Lol yes you are partly correct. I am not trained in felling trees. I was qualified to chop up trees. (That had fallen down)
I have absolutely no doubts I am not a tree feller. I have however used a chain saw for many years before elf and safety was invented. For many years I worked in willow trees over a river once or twice a year.

Then a few years later I was driver on an emergency tender that had various bits of gear added monthly and they either made up courses or got people in. Things have moved on I totally agree but the quotes we had to get these trees chopped down meant it was a balance between safety and being safe.

I am intrigued as to exactly how it should have been tackled though.

No bun fight BTW I do respect the professionals.

I’m trying to find all the saw course documents, they cover every aspect of felling trees apart from arb work. I’ll send you it if I find it.

Fitted these today with the help of @anto44 . 8ft high and roughly 12,6 wide

Used new saw to chop plywood to length. It will replace the old cabinet top, raise the tool box up a bit and have 5 or so draws, allow me to have some chuck shelves and taper holders hanging on the side. Saw cuts well even if it is very under powered.

I am not sure best way of doing the joints for back, sides, top and bottom, welcome any suggestons!

Make a jig ...... big enough to clamp it and move it when required , set it along pre drawn pencil lines and use a router set to 1/3 of the thickness for simple grove joints . Draw it out too so you realise where a shouldered grove will be and where an open sided cut is going for the top & bottom shelve , glue & screw up in predrilled holes use a countersink to get the heads slightly below th surface .line all screw slots up in th same orientation . Mark l all screw positions before predrilling & countersinking whilst the wood is flat . After gluing up & screwing it together it becomes very very strong & the unconscious eye will recognise quality & skill in the lined up screws .

Not made today, but over the last few days for my daughter in law. It’s a bit rough round the edges, but it’s to hang outside, so hopefully she will be happy.

Working on a catapult, Da Vinci design. I am making two identical ones for my kids.

Don't have a wood lathe any more, so I am using my metal lathe to turn the dowel, it's quite nice for making accurate wooden parts. Covered the ways with some leather and used dust exctraction. I tihnk I could make a more effective dust extraction if I wanted to.

The design I am working from, not doing an exacty copy.
