After I spent an hour or three making a tiny ANF screw and dropped the sodding thing , then spent two days cleaning out the garage to find it I decided that it might be wise to slip lengths of timber or three inch round down pipe under the front of each wheeled work bench & chock it so it would stay tught up tothe front castors . So that anything I dropped would stay within the walkway areas in front of the benches ..all I had to do was trail a big toroidal magnet inside a poly bag on a length of string and " Hey Presto ) it finds it for me if it's iron based. Have resorted to the old vax tub cleaner to find alu & brass .View attachment 274490
Bending some alu sheet for a pcb enclosure. Vice bender put plenty of scratches into the annodising and I need a removable way of bolting the vice to lathe bench.
Also swept the floor - I know where everything is, and it wasnt in the bit I swept! (Dropped some inserts last week )
Sausage chopper?
Paint it pink or dandelion yellow thenToday I made a reel for rolling out and probably more importantly, rolling back in 100m of 2 inch lay-flat hose.

Rough and ready.
It's made out of stuff I had kicking about, scaffold tube, 8mm re-bar, scaffold jack leg and plastic from a damaged fender.
I'll see if it works next week.
I used one of @pressbrake1 steel welding squares to hold the bits in place for tacking and a set of rolls I got on here for bending the re-bar for the drum..

I might even give it a lick of paint, not to protect it, but to see if I can lower the chances of it being thrown in the scrap skip while it's still needed.
An eternal valentines rose to tell her you always love her and your such a tight wad that buying her one now will save you a small fortune in the future. That's why I've never done it before but I reckon making ten at a time I could do them a bit quicker. Would probably save a bit of time starting with annealed sheet rather than 22mm water pipe too.

Just had a thought, there's probably money doing metal versions of trendy houseplants, people sell cuttings, literally single leaves, for upwards of fifty quid because they're slightly more variegated than the plant usually is!
Paint it pink or dandelion yellow then
Paint everything yellow, then you can't lose it or fall over it.Paint it pink or dandelion yellow then
When will that start?Paint everything yellow, then you can't lose it or fall over it.
That's my logic.
Wikus van de Merwe (Sharlto Copley) does them with his bare hands in the film District 9
It's started, it may never finish. When will that start?
You just made me zoom in on it saying that.Hello, first time poster here, im a motor mechanic in southwest ireland, read this thread from the start, very impressed with all your fine work. Heres one i did, finished yesterday, only my second time working with stainless, it went down well at home anyway!
Please dont zoom in on the bird doo thats holding the two leaves on! I hadnt set the welder low enough i think! Was too late last night finishing to be bothered grinding off the mess and hiding the sin ! The stem is 5mm od and the sheet was 0.5mmView attachment 274742
Yesterday ive been working on a jobsite , 50km travel , went there , started doing but couldn't do anything .
I needed to switch the power off but they had to work so I couldn't and didn't work
Spent an entire morning there ,no money
-10 euros for gasoline .
-5 hours of my life nobody can give me back .
I'm tired of this jobsite , I've to finish it , but customer is avoiding me to work .
I can't work in those conditions.
Today went to buy firewood , loaded the car and once home discovered that seller put only big logs in the trunk.
Took the chainsaw ,the axe, a wedge and a sledgehammer.
Done myself .
Chainsaw failed ,still have to understand what happened.
Axe edge ruined
Replaced a mirror on my sister's Toyota again
Tomorrow another jobsite in the morning .
And plasma demolition of a concrete mixer in the evening .
I'll have to borrow the plasma cutter from a friend tomorrow afternoon
Confused her on 2 fronts, why and what, and couldn't guess what it was for .. Can anyone out there make a guess?
What sort of clients were you working for ?Not pink. I used to take pink rubble tubs on site, thinking that no bloke in his right mind would "borrow" them. They drew them more than any other colour.
