Lovely spalting in the timber , there is a woman somewhere in the UK who is an expert in setting cut lumber so as it get the best spalting occurring in it , as a result her guided timbers are rather expensive . Think there is you tube video with her showing some of the better specimens too.
Just found this UK video about home spalting " woodworking # 77 how to spalt wood 2, part 1 of 3 - YouTube "
I've started clamping my clamps to the rafters above my lathe so the long legs are over the lathe high up out the way , so far I've not dropped one on the lathe as it's always a two handed exercise putting them up or taking them down.
It's Creosote! But just neat.Is that modern "Creocote" or the proper stuff mixed 50:50 with old engine oil to make it go further?
Don't let us stop you, but have one back!By God there's some talent on here! I could spend all day just giving likes.
Pretty sure I could smell that here!Talking of smells. I dug out the cultivator from the shed for the first time in 35/40 years , cleaned the carb and filter bowl , new fuel and it fired up 2nd pull and ran perfectly but filled the garden with smoke for about a minute . The best bit was that I used to put a drop of Castrol R in the petrol and some of it was still in the system . The smell was FABULOUS .

I added 1/35th black basecoat to the first, not a massive change in tint but enough to notice, if/when it needs sanding.
The front recessed bit, where I spilt paint then burnt it with heat lamp, has caused me so many problems. So, sods law, as soon as Id primered it today, a thick black hair landed in it. Not mine I dont have any! A blade got it out and another spray hid most of the damage.
