I only know of 1 fuel station that makes you get off your bike when filling up, in Crickhowell, Wales
I sit on my bike when I fill the tank because,
1) I can see how much fuel is in the tank of my KTM640 - 20 litre tank, I don't always want it filled right up, it is quite heavy,
2) I want the tank on my ZX12R filled to the maximum, on its side stand, leaning over !

I made a bick of sorts to help me forge some round ring like stuff (for scythe handles and also a retaining ring for the scythe blade itself)
Should probably have made a longer shank for the hardy hole, but it was pretty tiring work, it seems to hold well when I try and beat on it. Eventually I might point it to make it more flexible, fo rnow I will just clean up the surfaces.

A few coats of Tractol primer & "Claret Red" paint applied with a roller over the evenings of this week and it's finished:
If you've been paying attention, you'll notice the switches have moved. I realised that if I put the power supply up on stilts, I could spin the front plate around and move the switches further away from the disc. That took a lot of rewiring and general mucking about, making me wish I'd thought of it before, but I got there in the end.
I used it this morning to flatten the back of a 50 mm chisel and then grind the bevel square and it made the job really easy. It was a fair way off flat on the back so it would have taken a long time to sort it out by hand. I followed that up with a #4 plane iron and again it was quick and easy (with the iron staying nice and cool). Both tools had a final touch-up on a waterstone, but that only took a few seconds given that everything was square and flat.
Now I just need to write it up for my website I guess.

Is that the standard way of making your anvil captive to the block in your locality ? I’ve never seen a council communal area look so nice. Where is all the spray painted graffiti and fag lighter burns?
I’ll take a pic next time I’m working in the local ones.... looks like the dodgiest east London doss house in the 60’s.
I said to one of my lads today,this must be the tidiest council estate for miles,hundreds of them! Spotless everywhere,some of the garages still have the 1950’s wooden doors,no graffiti,very little litter,countless bird nesting boxes in the eaves.
