It's enough for me also because exhaust will cover its sound even if at high volume

There is no TPO on this one, I keep reporting to the council about the lack of upkeep and the roots lifting the pavement, they have sent a few tree huggers out and they have said they don't have the resources and I could always adopt it and sort it myself...great! At least my council tax money is being put to good use
The tree is far too big to be near houses, god knows where the roots go to?

A threaded adaptor, and a blurry pic, I dont yet have a roundtuit die holder for m10x1 dies. Er40 collet can hold it but I didnt have the correct spanner for chuck.

The original handle turns out to be M8, not m10x1 Much effort could have been saved.. not that I have any immediate need for it.

Now I just need matching colors for my wife’s van.
Plan is to travel around and made some “smart repair” ;-).

Threaded adaptor done, stable enough just needs a weight on the base.

I made a stainless washer and welded it to an M25 hex setscrew.

I then milled a flat on the screw.

Milled a round end and a hex hole in some 50mm wide x 12mm thick HDPE

Bored and tapped an M6 hole into the screw and then made another washer and fitted the plastic to the screw.

Then turned a body from some 60mm acetal, made another washer and then plasma cut an arm from 8mm 5083 aluminium and fitted it all together.

Cut some bits of 20mm thick Acetal to the angle required then milled a square hole in for the boats steering rod to pass through.

Put some 5mm plastic onto the Chiron ready to mill out some spacers to keep the bronze controls on the boat away from the aluminium.

Went away to repair some stainless bits from the local McDonalds and heard a clunk and the spindle stop on the Chiron, the control had died so this is as far as I got.

Did some cutting and sticking to an exhaust to keep all the silencing effect while shortening it

Shortened as it is just going to be used on my engine test bed that runs them out the car so no need for all the extra length to take to rear of car

The thin exhaust pipe I blew a few holes in but all in all went well

It's a Johnstones shed and fence treatment, about £11 for 5 litres, good stuff and lasts a couple of years on outside wood.

Made myself and the lads very wet today dragging a Beech tree that decided to go for a swim out of a canal

No machine access, little capstan hauled the whole thing out of the canal and up the bank

Timber Winch

Needed a powerful portable lightweight winch that could run all day for weeks on end pulling willow out of a lake and onto an island complete with roots, nothing out out there readily available with the kind of grunt needed for less than 2k , we built a frame, mounted a S/H capstan landy winch...

It's been too hot in the workshop by the time I finished work for the last couple of weeks, but today we had some rain which brought some relief from the heat and I did a bit more on my slow speed grinder. A few bits for the base enclosure, again with dimensions chosen to fit the material I already had:

One of the smaller pieces will gain a lot more holes in due course as it's going to have some switches inset, but I decided to leave that for another time.

Yesterday I collected my Ravaglioli column lifts for the lorries, usually then come with 4 columns but mine has 6 and they were fitted with the wheel clamps so they slide directly under each lorry wheel and all plug together to the master control column.

I dismissed column lifts and was looking for a platform lift but there were none around, surprising as so many companies are going under with the pandemic, and a little research on the Ravaglioli site showed they had optional extras and you can unbolt the wheel clamps and convert them to a platform lift by using 4 columns, and it got better as they also had full engineering drawings of them, am I buying these? obviously not as I have full engineering drawings and the materials to make them.

Each column has a working weight of 5500Kg and four columns gives a lifting capacity of 22T minus the deck weight which is more than I intended and it operates in both modes.
