I reacted badly to rapid pic changes and no way of stopping the flow.

It's often described as a poverty thinking /accepting mindset where people seem to think they must have a station in life that they cannot go past , often tied inwith their style / level of education . But they are usually the salt of the earth , if you only take small pinches.

That program would be good for a few of the things I have seen made.

Practising some downhill mig for a door I'll be welding later , 1.5mm plate lap weld at about 15V , 3.7m/m

Quite happy with the downhill results and seem to get good penetration coming through back of plate.

Went for a repeating U pattern downwards and seems to have okay results.

Good evening gents. My little bit
1stly something that I had started several months ago (at least 6 months ago ) now at least completed.

Finally bent yesterday after riding around in the back of the small truck. At least I have the patina of those 6 months with rain and other crap being deposited on the plates. Well it, they actually fit together and look as the drawing showed

2nd item also completed yesterday / today, new external fireplace for the house.

This is the flat version prior to assembly, with the dross removed and put over the 'grill' surface finishing machine.

Assembled / welded. This is made from Corten steel, will see how it goes and may do some more with it.

As can be seen the front panels come off and it has a ash tray. I think that next time will make the ash tray from 3mm and not 6mm. At least all this will not blow away in the wind. It weighs over 100kg show it should be safe for 60knt.

Next thing to sort is the rocket stoves, made from 150 shs, which I have laying around. Only problem is I have to get my backside into gear and completed the rotary axis on the cnc machine.

In a previous life we used to a lot work with a local pet food company, owned by a big mulitnational confectionary/food company.

I swear the only tool some of their "engineers" owned was a lump hammer. I think the "engineers" used to be rotated through on their was to bigger/better places in the group, as we used to see a lot of new faces come for a look round to see how we rebuilt, improved their extruders etc.

One guy, on his visit, was amazed at one of the bits of kit we had . . . "so THAT's what a lathe looks like . . ." . . . he then asked how we put the metal back on . . . I had to walk away in-case we lost business due to something I might say, leaving him with our MD . . . I assume he showed him a welder in the other shop . . .

Many years ago ( why do all my comments start the same? ) I was teaching a group of mechanics the 'black art ' of rebuilding a single cylinder stationary engine , I know but it shows the level of dealer skills, when one of the guys came forward and peered into the open barrel and asked " where is the bore? ( no comment required) the joke was he was a a service Manager F.F.S. I found out later he was sacked shortly after the course finished.

These green rubber abrasive costs just more that I expected.
but it is worth it.

And also very dirty if you get it an cutting edges.

Can not compare to other machines.
Fein always did the job.
Got several machines and all performed very good.
Grinders are heavy but also heavy duty.

I've got a cheapie one like double boosts, apart from me dropping it when it was a day old and breaking the handle its worked away fine, the abrasives for it are pretty expensive mind.

You need enough power to drive them abrasives. I doubt a Chinese grinder will have the wattage to run SiC woven abrasive.

It is about 1100W and variable speed up to 3000rpm.
