Paint over most of the green witness LED with a black maker pen to reduce the illumination.. it's not in the a public so what you do at home is of little consequence . I can see the muted LED's on both back up lights , If the mains drops out it still illuminates with the safety lighting . We check our units on the first of each month without fail .Whilst it's a good idea in principle it will also require the proper maintainence regime to keep it in working order. If the maintainence isn't kept up then they won't stay illuminated for very long in a power cut.
How many of these domestic customers will ever test emergency lights or replace the batteries? And how do they feel about those damn green lights?
