I have a supply of Tools that I got a while back but none of the 15 or so batteries seem to.charge up. Most have green gunge on the copper inserts.
I guess batteries are one thing you can't clean with ultra sonic cleaners either.

My son has now moved jobs but tools he needs are provided on site. Hence I need some tools he can grab at home when he needs them.

There is someone posting on the FreeCAD forum about using AI to generate FC models. There is also someone on ukworkshop posting about using AI to generate OpenSCAD models.

I suspect the common theme is the 3D modelling program is opensource.

Got inspiration from this design but decided to make my own version with a different locking system https://www.printables.com/model/576756-travel-and-camping-clothesline-drying-rope-laundry.

Basically I has an over centre mechanism in the handle which pulls the drum up and engages the teeth (Google ratchet mount) which resists rotation. It also has a slot in the base for storing hooks/pegs and uses countersunk screws as a "round dovetail" since much stronger than a printed one at this scale.

Some improvements to do (possibly a spring and larger teeth gap as close enough to grind if winding fast) but otherwise pretty good.

100% infill solid? Would have thought you could have just done thick perimeter or vase mode and filled inside with epoxy or concrete/plaster like some do to massively reduce time but keep strength?

It's 200 'ish grammes and going to be beaten with a rawhide mallet.

Nice, I guess my aim for snug tolerances definitely helps hold it together without nuts lol, I realised I forgot to put the core bolt back in on my one

Hope the instructions weren't over the top, wanted to make sure noone made mistakes and tried to blame my instructions lol

It looks good. Could I please draw your attention to the possiblities of these for things like the handle pivot. They can be slimmer and neater than a standard nut and bolt. Drop of loctite for security. Same items in a larger size are found holding the wheels on on kids' scooters (non-electric ones).
