It was a total of £19 (+some pence, can't remember) delivered, and that included the dreaded VATIt's saying 27 dollars inc tax but then it says they can take up to 42 dollars. So for that reason I am out.

(although I think I'm still logged in) I guess this is "dynamic pricing" in action, everyone gets served up a different price.There's a number of sellers selling this exact same looking buildplate, I just went with the cheapest I could find that had free delivery.

There are 3 choices for me but I sure don't have 9.40 as one of them.
The biggest issue is going through checkout it saying that you authorise them to take up to 42 quid. Never seen this before..

Where did you source your Flexi plate from ? I'm struggling to remove "large" prints from my build plate currently.

I bought mine from Amazon. After a google, I didn’t at the time find a huge price difference between Amazon and elsewhere (I’ve added a screenshot). I initially bought a 135x75mm plate, but realised it reduced the base size a little bit. I wasn’t sure about the effect on full plate prints, so I bought the 140x84mm, which works great, but be cautious about positioning, as the tab can scrape the resin tank.
You’ll need to re home the plate to compensate for the extra thickness, and don’t forget to ensure everything is square (Or grind down the tab if it’s a problem). It’s still way better than using a hammer and chisel to remove your models. And yes, it only took me two prints, and a small hammer to the scraper to convince me to buy the flex plates.

Slowly moving forwards with the little 9 x 19” lathe rebuild. I will eventually make the cross slide bracket out of metal, but in the meantime, I turned to thingiverse and printed one out of resin.
The bracket still needs some fettling, but once that’s done, I just need to fit the covers, do some adjusting, and I can start to seriously use the lathe.

I’m a simple soul, and the last casting I did was casting metal chess sets when I was a teenager (I still find molten metal, even in small quantities scary), so I’ll just mill a metal bracket using the printed one for the dimensions.

A few strategically placed reinforcing bolts or all thread and I see no reason why you couldn't keep the 3D print.

Basically you ditch the existing long shaft, cam, lever etc and drop this into the Sheppach bandsaw vice, just to retain a new M12 shaft. Will suffice for a while. Took some measuring as the cast vice body is subtly tapered here and there. The prototype print fitted doing this now:

Got a little further with this Scheppach vice adapter. The "block" fits nicely. The front and rear "load spreading" washers need just a tad more work to fit. Only problem is my lad put the nut axis too far down. Easy fix!

Been struggling with layer shifts and some other erratic printing behaviour. Checked everything steppers, frame, belt tensions, screw threads, memory card, the slicer, firmware, cables, connectors, over and over, round in circles chasing a random layer shifting

Very tidy looking print. Can be difficult to get the precise fit and accuracy for a part like that.

Not exclusively, there are "raised text" versions of each file that with a single colour printer you can pause the print at a certain height (just above the background) and then change the filament and continue with the rest of the text in the new colour.
