Submarine conning tower hatch

I emailed John (Soviet Sub) over the weekend and it's all still on for the 27th. He said that he can pick us up from the Rochester Pier (off the Esplanade, under the castle walls) at 1pm.

Stumbled across this tonight. This was taken at HM Dockyard, Chatham, about 1982 in the final year of my apprenticeship - I was about 22 I think.
Not exactly sure now what it was I was pretending to do, but the panel was from a nuclear sub, possibly either Warspite or Conquerer maybe.

Strangley my current contract is working on a nuclear submarine simulator. but a british one so should be completly different.

Would love to see the apprentice’s faces after undergoing the sim of the all whistles and braces British sub .... then seeing the ‘owd’ Russian sub and say to them ‘take us out of the harbour .... ‘

Nearest postcode to the pier is ME11QE, and there are a few car parking spaces directly opposite.

I live very close by and I’m happy to pick folks up from their (local) hotels. I have room for 3 passengers.
