There's a Premier Inn (Victory pier, Chatham ME4 4TZ) which is right next to Chatham dock yards if you fancy doing the Dockyards & a British submarine on the Saturday - prices look quite cheap at the moment.
There's an outlet centre with a few bars & restaurants nearby too if we fancy a meet up on Saturday. Unless people would rather go to the Riverside Tavern

Chatham Historic Dockyard is well worth a look, but unfortunately it's now closed until February, so please don't base your Soviet Sub trip around a Dockyard visit!

Stumbled across this tonight. This was taken at HM Dockyard, Chatham, about 1982 in the final year of my apprenticeship - I was about 22 I think.
Not exactly sure now what it was I was pretending to do, but the panel was from a nuclear sub, possibly either Warspite or Conquerer maybe.

I was looking round the Ocelot sub in Chatham, and on one of the control panels there was a familiar logo, with the dreaded words, "British Leyland"! I hope it wasnt a 'Friday afternoon' submarine

It may have been Conqueror, but she was also pretty busy in 1982 doing some “unpleasantness” with the argies

I emailed John (Soviet Sub) over the weekend and it's all still on for the 27th. He said that he can pick us up from the Rochester Pier (off the Esplanade, under the castle walls) at 1pm.
