Super Glue Vapour

I'm confident we all know about the hazards associated with superglue, but I just had a surprise issue with this brand of superglue from the Poundland shop, so thought I'd mention it to others.

While standing and opening a tube down on my bench, the vapours instantly rose and came up to eye level, with some getting under my glasses and irritating my eyes.
I haven't experienced this happen before with other super glues, so it appears the chemical formula is different. Please be extra careful if you happen to buy some.

My camera won't focus clear enough on a tube, but the numbers on it are [ 503145 ] and the batch number is [ 202206 ].
EDIT: I might add, this was purchased here in the UK.

I know a guy who opened a tube of super glue on a hot day in his shed.

It squirted out and into his eye. He then rubbed his eye which subsequently led to him gluing his fingers, eyelid and eye together!

Be warned on that!! I always remember that when opening tubes. He had to be taken to hospital with hand in place under extreme pain and needed laser eye surgery etc after

I have noticed the fumes from the extra strength, high viscosity super glues tend to exhibit similar. Recently stuck some new sealing rope on the workshop wood burner and the syrupy glue was quite strong smelling.

Was at a neighbors welding shop and they were model airplane enthusiasts, so had a bunch of super glues and accelerators on hand.
They were welding small pieces of 1" box tubing together, so one guy was super gluing them
together first (it was a finicky weldment), and handing them to the other guy to weld.
The smell of burning super glue was unique....I thought about it for some time, and the closest smell that I thought of was urinal cakes.
Not moth balls, urinal cakes.

I had used something like this for plastic, and it blew me away with the fumes:

Loctite Plastic Bonder from Loctite Adhesives

Bonding plastics such as ABS, PVC, Acrylic, Nylon, Polycarbonate and more.

Usually epoxies and super glues don't have much odor/fumes.

I ended up putting the part and the dispenser in my small glass bead cabinet to use.
I had ducted the exhaust outside when I installed it.

All superglues have eye irritating vapour in my experience. I put the cap back on asap to avoid it.

I did hear some time ago though, some schools had to stop using them as the kids processed them into something

Years back when I was a mechanic, I was replacing the auto adjuster quardrant on the clutch pedal of a MkIII Escort, nearly choking on the smell of a urinal cake under the footwell mat. Turned out the car's owner was a council bog cleaner and he just LOVED the smell so he had them dotted about all over the inside of his car!

I know I'm just an insensitive oaf, but have to say I've never noticed any vapour or niffs at all from super glue..

.. and always avoid getting my snout anywhere near "urinal cakes"...

Some people can't smell as much as others, count it as a blessing.
Some paint smells make me visit the bathroom in about 30 minutes, I physically get sick.

its on the same level and the fumes from soldering flux for irritating my eyes. also dont they use the vapours from superglue for getting fingerprints (as seen on tv shows)

Back in the day I used to sell a very large amount of those ratchet and pawl kits. They seemed to be a weakness on all of the Fords at that time.

Old school habits die hard, but I think a full face shield is in order for me working with any chemical products now.
