Reminded me of those cans of Tennents(¿?) lager you used to get, with pictures of Scotswomen on them. The printing looks just the same, and the models don't seem to have changed much either

Each one has two months on it. Hence six is the set.

They were discontinued in the 90’s I think.

There’s a set of 5. The only thing that is better than the new ones is you beat these in then wind them out with a 12 point socket. The harder you pull the more they bite. They have never lost.

As with the other set, and the new ones (I imagine), 99% of the success is in the correct pilot drill

I think these are different tools, the ones @Keithmac is talking about are specifically for removing knackered allen/hex head screws/bolts

Yeh, mine are basically expanding allen keys. The further into the head they the tighter they grip.

Chap at the local garage is a big Snap-On fan and recently had trouble with his code reader/programmer and suspected the problem was with the lead connecting the device to the on-board OBC port.

He contacted Snap-On [as far as I know it was them] and a van with two blokes turned up a few days later. The van was equipped with a big TV/monitor and the range of readers/accessories.

I was there to collect my car and when I left they were deep in discussion at the back of the van. I'm assuming he got sorted, but will ask when I pick a wheel I left to have a slow puncture repaired.

Probably, but I know his reader is very recent so would expect it and the connecting lead to be covered by the warranty.

I'll find out soon.....

Left hand drill bits are a good thing with any extractor

I’ve slowly been replacing all the hex countersinks with torx on my kids rc cars. Usually drill the head off then wind the stud out but those look like just the job.

They also do a set specifically for damaged Torx, the annoying thing is when they were first on the van they were about £70 I think. I had fully planned to get both sets but was too late.

Sounds interesting. I’ve not yet had a torx that I couldn’t get out but never say never. … please don’t post the part number !
