Just what I wanted to hear, I’ve got three interior lights in the back of the transit so it should be lovely and bright.

The work light idea sounds good but if I needed to illuminate where I was working in the rain the back of the van would get soaked so I’d prefer to have them on the outside

Aye. Got two on the outside too for that reason. Well. When I finish making the mounts I will have

I have the LED strips, plenty of light, no single source to dazzle and no shadows. Looks a bit like a funfair too...

Bought for the exterior but ended up replacing the original interior aux lamps with em instead

Led strip lights get used a lot.

Got one of these on an extending pole on the back of my trailer. We often set up our medieval show on a Friday, in the dark. A light 12 feet up in the air helps a lot.

Well I got most of the van sorted today by knocking up a frame and fixing it to the bulkhead and through the floor so I could mount my tool box.

Didn’t have time to sort the gas bottles but will spend a bit of time through the week making the frames as I may be travelling up to Scotland on Thursday / Friday to repair a set of shears. I’ve decide the Argon is going to stand by the sliding door and the oxy / acet bottles on the offside in between the racking and the Mosa, the hose reel I’m getting will sit above the vice so makes sense to keep it all in line, I’ll just have to secure the hoses from the bottles to the reel up by the roof bars.

The space where the argon is now will be used for a sink and paper roll holder which I’m on the look out for.

Looks very well organised. Do you plan on running the Mosa in situ, do you have to do anything with the exhaust for it?

Thanks, I’m sure I’ll switch stuff around over time but it’s much better than how it was. I am toying with the idea of replacing the ply lining with white pvc sheets so the light reflects better but I’ll decide that once I’ve fitted the LED strip lights


For the exhaust I am picking up a length of tube that I will be making a slip on exhaust with, it’ll slide over the tail piece and will be secured to the bulkhead via some sort of bracket that I’ll fab up.

I also want the Mosa to slide out although the Extreme Duty draw runners I’ve found are £300 each!! I am going to try and think of a cheaper way to get it to slide out

You know what, you have just triggered something with me now. Scissor lift extension decks work on that type of system with a nylon roller fixed at the end of the bigger box section and nylon pads fixed on the underside of the deck to slide on top of the bigger section.

Wonder how it work though trying to slide a 350kg genny with the amount of friction generated??? Suppose it could use some sort of Teflon or silicon lubricant between the nylon pads and steel!!

maybe use a steel roller and no nylon less change of steel getting dented or squashed and inhibiting the sliding

I can see the white plastic being a good investment. Before I cut it down, I painted the underside of my welding table white and it seemed to help make it easier to find what I had stored underneath.
