I almost died in a last of the production line 306 HDI D Turbo in 2005.
Gti6 body kit and suspension made it look really nice but that rear axle is very unpredictable, several times the car skipped its **** out and one morning it caught me out and spun across a carriageway.
Match the rear axle to Pirelli P6000 tyres and they become very sketchy.
Yes.the rear axle do suffera lot of problems. Main one bring the needle bearings seize up and then you have no suspension at all. But the axles can be made and upgraded to handle really well.
Dazza!
Flip flops and vices balanced on the edge of the bench probably don't mix......
Record Number 3 vice and stanley no 4 plane.
Whats the best way to clean up the vice? It looks in good nick apart from the rust. I have a battery charger but its one of them smart ones unless i can piggy back off a battery?

Nice car, I manufacture solid rear beam mounts to remove the passive rear steer on those. Makes the handling a bit more predictable if you like to press on let's say
Ali is an awful material to make a splashback out of; the first time anyone cleans it it will get scratched. Stainless ones are almost as bad, although at least they don't corrode much.7075-T651 1/4" ali plate. Decent sized bit. Needed to make a sort of splash back for the shelves I made for above the cooker, protect the wood from the usual cooking muck coming off it.

is that a kick stand for a 306?

no fault but if you had that setup on a 306 over here youd leave the axle in the first pothole youd meet..
It's a coilover adaption to meet class regs (not my work btw) that stipulate original suspension pickup points and geometry. You can't just turret the rear trailing arms unfortunately, hence the rather complicated workaround solution.
