Hit a pheasant in a Rover 820, I could just see its head flopping about in the middle of the bonnet as I slowed down. The bloody thing bent the bonnet, smashing both head lights, bent the top and bottom valance causing both rads to fracture and creased both wings. I thought they would write it off, But they repaired it

I hit a pigeon when I was riding two-up on my 955 Sprint ST. Flew out of a hedge as I was banked over going round a corner. I was quite lucky in that it smashed the small central fairing panel around the headlight and missed the two massive fairing panels that go round the side of the bike. Still over £100 for a new panel and I got covered in feathers and blood. I was on my way to lead a group ride round South Wales - I looked quite a sight when I showed up at the meeting point!

My mate decided to "prove" to everyone his tiny drive was wide enough for his new BMW. He was right...the drive was wide enough...but someone had screwed a giant metal pin in the brickwork.

Was truly excellent to see his face as he pretended it was no big deal ...looked like it had been keyed with a 6 inch nail

Today i acquired a broken back light and a few small dents after backing the van into a bit of fence sticking out down the drive.

Looks like its all there, consider gluing it back together ?

My wife and I came out of our local supermarket overseas a couple years ago to find the tail light on our Honda Civic in pieces on the pavement. I picked them up, and when we got home I used Superglue to put them back together as a temporary fix. The fix turned out good enough that I didn't bother with the insurance company or getting a new light fixture.

I found it easier while trying to put it together to attach the smaller pieces to each other correctly, and then assemble the larger group together on the light fixture.

you can use baking soda as a filler in superglue to bridge gaps.

Received these today:

5 custom PCBs made and delivered in about two weeks all for the princely sum of £8.18, of which £1.57 was for the 5 PCBs and £6.61 was delivery. I could have got the delivery for a couple of quid less, but I splashed out and went with the tracked option.

I've designed loads of PCBs for work over the years, but home projects have always been strip board or similar. This is easily the simplest PCB I've ever made (unsurprisingly I guess given it's a home project rather than something complicated for my work to make money from) and probably not really deserving of a PCB vs just using strip board, but at the price it seemed daft to muck around with strip board!

I still haven't got my head around how they can make 5 PCBs for £1.57 and still (presumably) make a profit. That's not much more than I would expect to pay for PCBs in volume and that's after you've paid for all the up-front costs like stencils and such-like.

Ever noticed pheasants heads seem to come off easily Maybe a design flaw

I do a lot of cycling and in the summer months see so many in the gutters obviously whacked by a vehicle and sans a head.

I had just pulled in after over taking a bus on a long straight, the damn thing was almost on the verge at the other side when it did a 180 and low balled my rad. Guess I had the last laugh
