A heavy box, delivered by parcelforce (or rather left at front door before playing knock and run 
)
Like how well this is packaged, some real care gone in to make sure no damage in transit. Even chamfered the edges!

The wife picked up on a hint for a birthday present: Tell us more about those push rod tubes, I didn't know they were available. Are they cosmetic rust free etc? very interesting. Norm
Aluminium pushrod tubes (I know I should have had a go at making them myself on the lathe).
So if I get time next weekend, will get fitted to:

It was very well made, think I will keep itNot sure which I like most, the box or the motor
. The motor is proper old school clarke, the fan and fan shroud are metal! 1.1/8" shaft and silky smooth rotation.

cant use poison for fear of the dogs getting the corpses.
traps need too much tending - catching one, then losing bait within an hour.
there's two empty houses with massively overgrown gardens a couple of doors down, which i think theyre coming from.
theyre not going to be cleared until the end of summer, and i need to do something now - as theyre getting into the sheds, now
the "mighty hunters" are getting one a day between them.

i hate to kill things i'm not going to eat, but we haven't reached "rat on a stick" apocalypse levels yet,
i've had leptospirosis (i think!). I'm not going to risk it again, so they need to be gone

Today I acquired....from a neighbour, some crumpets still hot off the griddle. Spread a couple with butter & jam. Mmmhhhh

Thanks to @Mikey D, today I acquired a spare bandsaw motor:
It's seen better days, but it only took a handful of curse words to get it into this state:
Most of the screws came out either with a screwdriver or with mole grips, but you can probably spot the more stubborn one...
New bearings on order and the shaft has one end soaking in some hot citric acid (I'm doing one end at a time to try to keep the acid off the bearing mounting surfaces as that seemed a good idea):
