If I could have spoken to the actual owner I would have done. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a lot of very good things underneath all the oil drums (there were a lot of oil drums!).

This is one big vice. The jaws are 150 mm wide and the top of the jaws are about 240 mm above the base. Here it is next to a couple of other bench vices I have:
I was rather pleased!
Unfortunately social distancing rules preclude you coming and getting them.
On a serious note, I will probably want to get rid of two of the leg vices at some point. I'll probably have a go at restoring them first, but even I can't see a possible reason why I would need three of them! I just couldn't bring myself to let them be taken for scrap.
Thanks for the warning. I've never used one at all so it's good to be aware of such things (if I can ever lift it off the gravel!)

I used one for hot rasping the heels of the horseshoes I was making...lots of years ago. They are really quick as its a coarse thread and a long lever to close them. You can often just give it a nudge with the side of your knee.

It it and it is. I have every attachment ever made for it, including the cabinet it is on. But excluding the thing I really want which is a magnetic chuck to use it as a surface grinder. I am going to have to look for one, unless anyone has a small one they want to part with?

Actually acquired these about a year ago but I've just had them posted to my uni address so I can keep fit without going out. 
The scaffolding looks like its gonna be there a while, we've only got three quarters of a roof at the moment and the builders won't be back until the lockdown is relaxed it seems.

This is not the first time it has questioned my postings.
Yesterday I acquired a very painful heavily bruised middle toe on my left foot. I often wear toetectors but hadn't got them on yesterday. My stupidity. Be careful out there.
Oh and if you take the big hex nut off the top of the engine hoist cylinder, if you pick it up by the outer cylinder all the insides will suddenly drop off the bottom and slide out.
Ow ow ow.

It was my father's funeral yesterday so I had a mooch around his garden before we came back from Yorkshire, thought I would bring his 'boot scraper' back with me.
Needs a new hard wood block to retain the blade. Obviously one of the track shoes (?) no doubt from the disused railway that ran along the back of our garden.
The was a couple of very short lengths of rail too.
The top one was used as a weight for all sorts, stabilising the Christmas Tree, as a weight when my mother was pressing tongue (that sounds so wrong ) or brawn, it had many uses.
The second bit, lower left in picture, I don't think I have seen before. Anyone know what this profile would have been used for?

scored a load of tools that were getting shot out to the scrap man .me mate said I could have them . wasn't going to bother thinking they would be crap and just odd cheap made spanners turned out to be 2 full sets of metric gedore spanners engineers hammer mole grips screwdrivers grips stilsons and more in decent nick 
he said no use for them . hes e building kennels for his dogs and a shed so il wire and do the lights and sockets for him free. I would have anyhows because he did some brickwork round daughters house for nothing
