I'm sure I've heard of an illness librarians (And presumably booksellers) get from books, can't find anything on it now though, tried googling it but apparently there's something more important going around.

Soldering iron. Annoyed that no one makes a decent closed loop temperature controlled one, so I went with this. Seems good so far.

Librarians lung, caused by mould spores and dust, many years ago I had a job modifying some racking in an archive and had to wear a respirator before disturbing any of the paperwork.

Blimey, that’s in a sorry state.

Got it all going in the end. John Deere parts are rather cheap respectively but we needed a few! Still need to get the bonnet fixed, keep telling them to dry store it but they insist on leaving it outside thinking it’s as durable as a tractor.

Yeah it really just knackers them. You can lead a horse to water though... I built them these trolleys to move their candle wax melting tanks so they can utilise their floor space to the max, fitted two valves - one gate and one ball from the scrapyard, much cheaper and they work fine. The original ones were rubber valve garden hose type. When the hot water drained it just cooked the rubber and sealed it shut.

Is it from an old tannery?

I saw one very similar to that in a Tannery years ago.

must admit wish someone would dump one in that condition on me , agreee you put the work in, but the second hand cost of a good runner is pretty high in comparison,well done yo anyways , maybe a tarp would help keep it in better nick?

Not clearing cuttings kills them, the moisture is kept in contact with the deck etc. That and a mixture of soil and grass is far more abrasive than you think, wears everything out

charty shops get the same ive seen a few people walk acress the road after going to trade stuff in in cex walk across the road and hand all the broken, scrached items they have left over to the charity shop

I'd never heard of "CEX" before now.
Looked it up, and it's right in the centre, on The Horsefair.

I must have gone past it twice today too - but at about 5am.
I bet it's been there for years, but I guess I've been very un-observant for sighly longer than that!

Dangerous stuff, don't breathe it, and in vapour form its highly explosive. I recall back in 1978 I think it was, I was doing construction work at Lockheed's Burbank aircraft facility; painters in one of the buildings were using MEK to clean machinery etc. and something lit off the vapours blowing the place up killing two men; there were body imprints on a wall. Methyl-Ethyl-Keytone does have fantastic cleaning properties, but can also cause liver problems, so be very careful !

I use my Wife's empty plastic nail polish remover bottles to transfer Meth Spirits into as they are more robust and have a better quality seal for camping stove use than the normal thin plastic containers Meth Spirits comes in. This type of container was designed to store Acetone, so may be suitable for your purpose.

I will only ever be using tiny amounts at any time, outside, for plastic repairs, and the smell is extremely unpleasant.

A vintage all brass & metal Laboratory phase contrast compound microscope in mint condition, with correct and all matching accessories and optics.
Have a feeling our 11 year old Great Niece is going to want to have a look at some bugs.
