Could have been wrecked from being used to shred cable strippings (especially if any armour wire got put through). My wife's nephew was a sparky's mate and used to get the job of stripping the heavy cable. He used to use one of those to reduce a big pile of stripped sheaths down to a couple of bags of shredded plastic said they didn't last long but they got so much cash from the copper they'd just buy a new one each job.

I dont think so they are pretty rubbish after stripping cleaning and sharpening it it only works well on thicker dryer stuff anything to thin and green can tangle up around the worm style blade lucky it was free I would have hate to paid for it

Well finally done it, been looking for a proper drill for a long time, the Ferm one I have isn't bad I think its German? but not as good as the older ones.
Found a School selling some equipment, got a very nice Startrite Mercury Bench top pillar drill for £100! With Vice and chuck key!
I will be adding my Ferm Drill and drill vice to the sales section once I have installed the new one, please for an orderly queue.
Off to the shed to drill holes.
Oh has any one got any of the nuts for the depth stop?

Heres a sad tale, Or Today i didnt acquire! A few days ago i had a phone call from the technician i used to work with at the college. "We are getting rid of the surface grinder do you want it? (for nothing)" "Yes please sez i. I can move it thurs or friday as im away oop north begining of the week". Happy days thinks i!
"No problem he says". Now this is an Elliot 20" x 8"hydraulic machine in very good nick. My mate organised the hiab for fri morning & i checked in yesterday to confirm how we would do it. "Err theres a bit of a problem, they couldnt wait for you to move it so tried to move it outside on a pallet truck. Its fallen over & its proper smashed". Bloody great a fine machine possibly worth £1500 quid is now £20 worth of scrap iron. At least i hadnt paid for it!

I would be extremely surprised if anyone did a method statement or risk assesment. Good job it was half term & no students there. Also very lucky nobody got hurt. Never mind not my problem now!

I have almost acquired at least... not paid for and collected that's for tommorow........ but an 09 plate 1.. turbo diesel Saab for under 1200 notes. 135k on clock so I can rest the Navara before the chassis snaps in half.

well I got a new r-tech 161 ac/dc tig on Monday ,that's the good bit , bad bit its still in box and looks like I wont be able to look at it till next week
