I have a vague memory of apples wrapped in newspaper and kept in the dark that were eaten around Christmas, now they are available fresh all year round. Mind you rationing was still in force at the time
Today I acquired 4 springs courtesy of Dr.Al. I’m planning to make a wood burner and hope to use some of these to make the door handle. Will post some pictures when finished Graham. View attachment 252151

Not sure about news paper. Next door had a coldstore, this time of yr i would be helping collect all the different types of apples making sure each apple was clear of damaged, insect or rot, they would be laid down on wood slatted shelves with a light covering of straw making sure you left a gap between each one.
My parents had a smallholding in Somerset when I was about 6/7, there was an apple store above the former dairy, my dad would wrap all the apples from there orchard and lay them out on the floor - he couldn’t afford the slatted shelving! Most of the apples in the orchard were for cider - he inherited a crusher and press with the farm so made his own with a bit of help form the neighbours
dont want to dampen your present but if you intend to drive around with it in your back window you may

I acquired the realisation I'm an idiot.
Needed to get a boring bar setup in the new CNC lathe. Thought I'd take the solid carbide one out the old lathe, so ordered a 10mm boring bar sleeve, and since I had a quad turn bought on offer a while back, I'd get a sleeve for it as well, so ordered a 12mm sleeve.
Turns out the boring bar is an 8mm, and the quad turn that I thought was a 10mm and needed a 12mm sleeve, is actually a 12mm that needs a 16mm sleeve.
So I think I've covered every combination, except one that will work
I'm sure you do. You'd probably feel even better if you knew the other ordering mishap I made during the weekI feel much better now reading that.

Definitely noticed the weight up front @MattH but my forks did make it all the way underneath by 1/4".
Got all the legs on (no mean feat single banded) and will get it undercover tomorrow hopefully. Think until builders are done I'll have to take three gearboxes, one engine and a load of sheet steel out the way. Put the table underneath and put that lot back on top. Gonna be fun because the door is 7ft wide
