Four 7.5m lengths of 25 x 25 x 2.5mm and two lenths of 50 x 25 x 2.5mm steel section from F H Brundle for a few projects and 'stuff'. Figured that I'd better get some in to keep me busy should you know what but we can't talk about it happen again.

The eejit wielding the angle grinder with slitting disc halved all the lengths so they'd stand up in the workshop. As you can clearly see from the photo there was no way that was going to happen as the workshop is never that high... it wasn't until he wangled them inside and tried to stand them up that it occured to him that he should've cut them into 2.5m lengths as he'd previously done...

Although I did have a mishap with ordering some alu stock a couple months back, after duplicating the wrong order. Turns out you can't turn a 15mm part from 9/16" bar

There's effectively two couriers locally, one is faintly slow and disorganised but doesn't batter the parcels. The other are fast by dint of delivering stuff by catapult or parachuteless airdrop it seems. They bent the 3mm thick angle steel leg of a planer I bought.

Been there, built a couple of choppers back in the late 1970's. I just want a light weight little bike to putt around on the local roads, go to the shop, and take along in the van when we hook up the caravan and head off for a holiday.

No different to getting any trials bike road registered. As long as you meet the criteria re lights etc (if not a daytime not only)

I acquired a couple of new 5mts mig torches, one MB25 Parker for the Esab ( very nice) and a gurt MB36 Starparts ( not so nice)for one of the big Murex welders.

This mb25 from Parker is super supple

love the soft start and it has some real grunt.

Then I made a new friend (@Tinbasherdan look away now):



She is twelve and really really cute, very trusting and we immediately hit it off. Her humans wouldn't let me take her home for some reason.....

EDIT: Although the switch looks like every other crappy little switch that you have to struggle with to make it switch on and stay on. It isn't. I had to look twice at it because it just works, without a fight.

A new relay for my winch and some stainless bar to make some new cross bars






Dug out 1 of my winches to get ready for fitting to the Jeep. It was missing it's relay, no problem as I bought a new one about a year ago, turns out it's duff



The cross bars were well crusty but it also needs a strip and paint, that'll be next

Well I have to confess, I did struggle with the decision, 125mm up from 115. But it's only 10mm right? The difference is amazing, I am going to stick with 115 for the fiddly jobs (and I have a load of consumables anyhows) but the machine body of the 125mm machine is manageable in one hand the only thing to watch out for is almost twice the power. Deffo a two handed job with a wire wheel on.

Sorry, just to clarify, this is the 1100 watt version. I wanted something with more grunt than the 115mm offerings but not of the size of the 9" grinders. I thought this was a good compromise. One other massive plus point as far as I am concerned is the cable. The flex is proper flexible silicone rubber that is at least 3m long with a real honest to god durable 3 pin plug attached.

wrap the un ripened ones in a bit of newspaper and put them, in the cupboard for a few days and it ripens them

I have a vague memory of apples wrapped in newspaper and kept in the dark that were eaten around Christmas, now they are available fresh all year round. Mind you rationing was still in force at the time

I've seen these on the 'bay , ' think it was due to moving to 'Facom' ( (spelling ? )
They have factories in some of the Scandies.
