Awesome book, I have one , loads of infoA book I bought was delivered today, which was an unsoiled 15th edition of Machinery's Handbook. Inside was an envelope with a receipt in it from "The Institute Of Mechanical Engineers" dated November 1956. What seemed interesting, was that the receipt was for money accepted so the person applying didn't have to take an examination; what a crock of s#!+. If I'm not lost in translation (?), that's a receipt for back handers in writing, lol.
What do you think ?
And I can't even program a VCR , and they're obsolete.I got one of these [Dell Latitude 620] FOC from a very nice chap on the BMW forum I frequent, the intention is to use it only for diagnostics, coding etc once I decide which software will suit my needs best. I already have a generic code reader which reads/clears most fault codes [and gives access to 'live data'] but there's apparently so much you can do with the 'proper' marque dedicated software - another steep learning curve looms. What I need to avoid is turning the car into a brick because I've clicked on the wrong thing......
Yeah, unfortunately it would seem so. Imagine if your local brain surgeon bought off taking an exam.No nothing changes really does it, cronyism rules...its not what you know but who is in your pocket.Arther

Exemptions are(in Marine Engineering at any rate; doubtless other branches are similar) often available where you are time served or have broadly equivalent qualifications; I have a B.Eng so when I ran away to sea I submitted this to the MCA and in return for a cheque for £50 or thereabouts I got a letter saying I was exempt from all academic studies and only had to complete sea time and workshop subjects to qualify.A book I bought was delivered today, which was an unsoiled 15th edition of Machinery's Handbook. I have the exact same model laptop* as my works back up as it was one of the last laptops to have a dedicated serial port.I got one of these [Dell Latitude 620] FOC from a very nice chap on the BMW forum I frequent, the intention is to use it only for diagnostics, coding etc once I decide which software will suit my needs best. The latest batch of unsaleable ( by the place I work at) stuff includes Rocol copper grease spray, some cans of spray paint, brake cleaner, penetrating fluid, some castor wheels, some shim strip and the pick of the bunch a 3 litre bottle of Sif Liquid Flux, I've had a quick check on the price of this stuff and the Sif liquid is around £175 plus vat don't know how that figure is reached but it's around £70 a litre. What I need to know is whether I can use it like normal flux i.e. just paint it on or will I have to use a gas fluxer set up. I've got Oxy/Acetylene gear but no bottles at the moment and I don't have a gas fluxer set up, but was thinking of using my propane torch for the heat source. The opinions of the collective would be appreciated.
My main opinion is I need to come and visit the skip outside your work
I was let out today.
I know:
Who let the Vark Out!!
I went skip diving, a gold mine/
A good haul of wood chisels.

The Roybi is well past it's best, no fuel tank and does not pull over.
The Still had fuel, no plug.
Stole the plug from the other one, she fired up on the forth pull.
Runs a bit rough, may be air filter, correct plug and a good run with new fuel.
One Happy Vark.
No pass the beer.
