when I was blasting regular I used a 5 gallon bucket of water and about 6 meters of 8mm copper minibore pipe coiled up in it and used it for my airfed helmet as the air from the comp was red hot and made you gasp with the heat . it was heaven when cooled

Funny I was chatting to my dad last week and he was telling me that when he was an apprentice, both he and workmates bought bikes from the scrappies for around £5 for a running bike.

Mate of mine got twin cyl matchless in the 60s for £5 going rate then. same era I was given a 1938 speed twin and a B31, Speed twin engine into BSA frame and voila I had a Tribsa

Bougth this today 3mm JOKE pengrinder(?) don't know the english word for it. 60000 rpm, came with four carbide mills. Feels like quality.

My old planer thicknesser was struggling so treated myself to a new one. I didn't want another project so bought new.

It has a spiral head, indexed cutters no more setting of blades and if you nick one on a nail, just turn to a new face. I have a dozen or so spare inserts.

I put it on some machine feet to lift it up 80mm so I can move it around the workshop with the pallet truck.

I spent today doing that and generally setting it up. I had to unbolt and remove the tables to hoist it into the workshop. So had to adjust them to be coplanar and general messing about with extraction.

It's much quieter than the old one, and bigger in all respects. Finished wood is exceptional, needs virtually no sanding, even with difficult grain.

Eventually I'll buy a separate old iron planer and thicknesser, and probably fit spiral heads, but that may a few more years away.

Its Chinese made, designed in Italy. So far no real issues. The fence is very good and it's over 300kg so relatively solid construction. Cast iron tables are good quality too.

I now have no excuses for not finishing the kitchen.

Gas lens set off RiverWeld, been buying off him for over 10 years since I bought the MTC-120, it's still going strong, must have got lucky with that one

Only £20 or so on Amazon, delivered next day, Christ how times and prices have changed...

I believe it has 4 through 12 lenses and collets for 1.0, 1.6, 2.4 and 3.2mm tungstens...

Refurbishing my room, getting rid of the double bed and replacing it with a fold up bed from Wall Bed King, adding some worktops and a small, but reasonably sized metal topped work table.
Don't panic, fitting oxygen level sensors and a modified ventilation/extraction system for fumes...

Must be lockdown driving me insane, or normal, can't really go any more crazy
