Made this for my ER32, JOKE can do approximately 1mm 45 degree chamfer in one go and with some practice and concentration makes it neat.

Scott and Sargeant. Axminster do one a similar size but a bit cheaper, they both do 10" models cheaper still. They tend to be on long lead times so you may have to wait for one. I was looking at a Canadian company, Shelix Heads that sell spiral blocks, made in the US, for lots of different planers but couldn't find a donor machine at the right price and condition. The spiral block would set you back a fair bit by the time you have included import duties, shipping and VAT and I didn't want a project so dug deep and bought new.

That's where I was looking (S&S), I've had a look on axminster too. I've seen, and missed, a couple of nice machines but have hit the same snag as you, finding a spiral head cutter, to make fit a machine, without spending more than just buying new. I think in the new workshop I may bite the bullet and do the same as you, buy something new that'll do mew for a good while.

That's the most annoying thing about my previous battery lights, and my current USB-chargeable ones. In fact, more annoying than that, the battery lights (from Halfords, bought as a front/rear pair in a single box) didn't cycle through in the same order - one went off / flash / steady / off, the other went off / steady / flash / quicker flash / off. The new ones were from Aldi, and also have the silly multiple modes, as do the two workshop lights that I've bought from the Far East to use in the shed. Oh, for a normal on/off switch.

Nothing wrong with them that a few minutes with a wire brush and a few drops of gear oil won't sort out.

Any time i've needed ratchet straps, i take a drive around the Leeds motorways, coming off at each of the junctions between Ikea and bramham.
I can usually find a couple somewhere on that route.
Best day was six sets, all within 100yds of each other, just after where the M62 turns north to join the M1/M621.
