Shame for a big tree like that to be cut down. Older than time.

I HATE seeing trees cut down. Especially big old trees like that.

I think it’s demise was down to some quite heavy damage to the root system, it was in the middle of major landscape works. It was throwing off some huge limbs so it had to go before it killed someone.

Those bits are becoming more popular now and holding better prices with the trend of adding coloured resin into the cracks for the old meets new look.
