My favourite recipe for tripe is to put lots of olive oil on it so it slides easily off the plate into the bin.

"When I were a lad", you had to eat what was put in front of you and leave nothing on the plate....
If you said you didn't like it and tried to 'negotiate' something else, you went hungry and it came back at the next meal. That was a lesson you learned quickly.......
At lunch in junior school an older child was put in charge of each table, the girl in charge of my table hated me with a vengeance for some reason. She would make me eat everything I didnt wnt to. That was until the day she tried feeding me Sprouts. She managed to get me to eat 2 before they and eveything else I had eaten that yr came out at great force, unfortunately [for her] she was screaming at me in the face. She got a gob full. She was never the same after that.

You know what it confused me then as it does today. Not that it had any lasting affect other than still not liking sprouts.Maybe best we don't get to learn the underlying reason....?

(Although have have this weird memory she was called Josephine, a girl I dated in the 6th form yrs later. Didnt last long as even at that age it was apparent she was a bunny boiler)

Soldering iron tip cleaner arrived...tiny little pot for £10.
I have to say it's bloomin worth it...I want from a carbon covered burned tip to a lovely tinned tip in 2 seconds...amazing stuff.

I know....when it arrived I was very annoyed as I didn't check and thought I was getting a tub of the stuff!!£10
But then I tried it....it bloomin does exactly what it says on the tin! No idea how it works...it's like flux mixed with powdered solder or something. Stick the iron in and it comes out perfectly tinned. I was trying for ages to restore the tip so this was my last attempt. Going to save a lot of swearing....no idea if it can be had for cheaper elsewhere...probably...but I'm happy with how it works
The tip was as burned as the rest of it....no matter what I did it just wouldn't tin properly. This is a single 2 second dip...I'm amazed....how have I never heard of this stuff before!
