It grows like a weed here too, my mum makes as much rhubarb jam as she can & sells it for charity. We also freeze a lot of it plus supply various friends & neighbours. A local bakery sometimes gets it to bake pies, we get a gift voucher in return!
But several folk have taken roots from our plants and none of them have got them to grow successfully!
@OJCar - you probably know already but cover the plant in some well rotted horse manure, ours gets done every year.
Mine gets nothing at all other than harvested, although I did dig up a lot of its spreading roots the other year, but it just keeps on producing copious amounts every year
