Today I acquired...........

The other day I was given a load of tools, in the bundle was a old Rose chocolate tin. It was heavy, it rattled.
But the lid was nearly impossible to remove.



But inverting it and allowing a thin oil to seep into the lid and body allowed me to open it.

After sorting. The junk was dumped.
B&D holes saw, good hole saws, drills assorted.



The good bits, there was many more, but they wer no good to man or beast, or Norbert.



Decent C/sunk wood inserts.

Plus a bit more of the usable stuff.

What was giving the tin the weight was this.



A Hilti DC 58 tool.

No idea what it does.

So this morning I took it to the north.

And it works. Mostly.
Installed Octopi as per their instructions.
Couldn't get it to connect via SSH using the IP address for some reason, so out of frustration tried octopi.local in the web browser and it connected.
Managed to install the drivers for the screen, but Octodash won't load on boot. Comes up with a "no screens found" error that there doesn't seem to be a definitive fix for, and I hate Linux at the best of times, so I'll survive without the screen for now. I might buy an HDMI screen at some point.

Uploaded a file, and it prints.
Also installed the Cura plugin, so I can open an STL, slice it, then send it to the printer with minimal clicking.

TYA, the Hilti tool is to drive hard nails into concrete, they use nails with washers on fitted in the end of the tool & you drive it in with a hammer on the back.

I don’t need one thanks, I had one at one time………. But it was borrowed about 30 years ago, who knows where it is now.

An Ooni wood pellet fired pizza oven.

It heats up pretty quick, is small enough to take camping and the first pizzas turned out pretty good despite our ineptitude. By pizza number four I had got the hang of getting the pizza not to stick to the peel without flinging it in a heap at the back of the oven. I'm quite impressed.

I have a Kennedy canti barn. Next to the snap on no difference. It’s reasonably good stuff. A lot of it offshore.

god there garbage used one as an apprentice 50 years ago. the cartridge nail guns are the best for driving nails in to solid steel for fixings. there using them on a job it at at the mo

Ooh I've got one of those mines blue though so loads better

Did you split it at the drip tray to move? If so how does the shaft to the auto traverse come off? Mine seems to be pinned but I can't see where.
