If it is pallet tine it’ll make a good striking anvil. Our pallet tines are about that size could be a lump of one?

Now it's a game of guess
My BIL recently passed away
What the hell was that from!!! A decent lump of steel. Would make a good bottom plate on a fly press or something
I have looked at the second listing with a view to ordering. The shank is 1/2” not the standard 3/4” Weldon shank.Today a foot switch. I've got so used to having one on the lathe, and having my foot raised over it, not having one feels unnatural. The old was latching but Im thinking a momentary would be more comfortable and safer. I am only using as a low voltage control input to vfd - it is not switching the mains. Aluminium case, feels decent enough.

At @Dcal 's suggestion I have gone looking for big long slugger drills, they get expensive! Found this one with "light use"
Rotabroach Magnetic Drill Hole Cutter 39mm (Whole Drilling) | eBay
Genuine Rotabroach cutter. Cutter 63 mm. Shank 19mm. No Core drill. Used Lightly in good condition.www.ebay.co.uk
and two of these. Maybe Ive read the listing wrong as it appears too cheap compared to the others
BABY AIRFORCE ANNULAR ROTABROACH TYPE HOLE CUTTERS | JANCY | SLUGGER | eBay
Jancy AirForce Baby Slugger Cutters / RotaBroach Style Annular Hole Cutter. Jancy Engineering is proud to introduce its Short Slugger series of annular cutting tools. - 1/2" shank for use with pneumatic Airforce drill.www.ebay.co.uk
Correct. The Weldon adapter is 19mm with two grubs at 90 deg to pick up on the flat faces of the cutter. The other end is whatever fits the mag drill / mill / whateverHaving nor used one before, I am assuming that 19mm and 12mm bores with grub screws are adequate to drive them? So should be easy to make a 30mm OD adaptor to go in the er40.
Ordered a second foot pedal, im thinking the case would make a good tig foot pedal if theres space for a pot inside.
Will do, I think it's sat around a coupleNice. That's done very little workgoing by the strap and the general condition. You might want to re-grease the gears and gimbal just as a precaution and the wear shoes certainly need oiling.
If you knew how much he paid...Nice. That's done very little workgoing by the strap and the general condition. You might want to re-grease the gears and gimbal just as a precaution and the wear shoes certainly need oiling.
I'm embarrassedIf you knew how much he paid...
Very nice indeed! That's a MT3 machine is it not?Acquired another dent in my wallet. It was a nice surprise to find out I won the bid when we arrived home from a motorcycle club function last night. I've been watching this "Fobco 10 Eight" drill press with anticipation, as it's rare to see one that looks to have had little use and appears to be in unabused condition. I previously contacted the owner and found that its at a residence rather than at an industrial site, so that added weight in influencing me to take a punt. Looks like a road trip is in order, I like a road trip.
Here's a couple of screen shot photos.
Apparently so, MT3 was listed in the description. It was one of the main reasons I was interested. I still have quite a few MT3 drill bits and a couple of Jacobs super chucks from my 14" Clausing lathe, which I sold overseas.Very nice indeed! That's a MT3 machine is it not?
I messaged RDG and they sent out another. This one even shorter, but is fully ground all over and much better quality, so Im happy with that.Test fit.. and roughtly aligned in photo for where they sit in the spindle. The mt3 is not the correct length. I can imagine this marking the spindle and rasing a burr where the mt3 ends too short.View attachment 303172
Should I send this back?
