You think everything has gone downhillI did tell you they've gone downhill
Well you haven't been welding long enough to know what quality used to be.You think everything has gone downhill
maybe they have, but what's a better option than ultima gold? They're a consumable, after all...
@Tom Orrow LBrad is right, I got a pair when I first started and they were better, but I also paid more. At five pounds Im not complaining, they are still a lot better than the parweld rubbish.
Not as good fit as the old, but where the old pair had folded seams, the finger tips on these is not, so the stitching will easily get burnt.
I did look for the Bohler's but couldnt find any shop selling them.. searches all came back with arc rods.
I'm not disagreeing btw, I find it funny how consistent your opinion is of stuff, usually the word Sh**eWell you haven't been welding long enough to know what quality used to be.
I have exactly the same. It is what it is. Pretty useable and locks up nicely. Wouldn’t use it on something mega accurate but it’s ok for day to day stuff or taking away from the workshop to test runout on machines etc.A chinese indicator stand, very cheap and nasty but it'll do, I like to think I'll make a decent one (à la Stefan Gotteswinter) eventually.
It was £15 quid with next day delivery, I wasn't expecting Mitutoyo quality.

The magnet seems reasonably strong and the arm locks up okay (Nothing like my Smallrig arm), the fine adjust is completely unusable, we'll see how much that annoys me.
I seem to end up grinding the end of a finger off ,, then supergluing the hole together , then they last for ages .I'm not disagreeing btw, I find it funny how consistent your opinion is of stuff, usually the word Sh**e
Just saying, gloves are the least of my worries, they end up with holes in sooner or later anyway... you know i give stuff an easy life in my shop, but I'll still wear out a couple of pairs of those a year. They get holes in the thumb or forefinger before the stitching is an issue.
I got the exact same one, and have the same conclusions.A chinese indicator stand, very cheap and nasty but it'll do, I like to think I'll make a decent one (à la Stefan Gotteswinter) eventually.

Not so much acquired as reaquired. A hopefully now working, rebuilt 2.5L G9U630 engine for my Vivaro camper van.
Just need to try to remember where all those plugs and pipes go now!
And remember next time to buy a van with a common engine, not a let's try and wedge this in there special.
