Today I acquired a pitot tube for my flowbench and some ac/dc converters for led`s on my drill.

I don't suppose you need any gauges for the bench? I've got a bucket of them. Nice magnahelic gauge would read a pitot tube nicely...

doubt a magnahelic gauge would be accurate enough for a flow bench. more likely a micromanometer, airflow developments make nice kit, usually not too dear,. You can hire it too, might be an idea to try that out first, see what you need then try to pick one up secondhand. not too dear usually. used it all day every day on the HVAC commissioning.. good gear.

Used to use a handheld micromanometer when setting up exhaust flows for flotation dryers.

For something on a bench if you don’t need portability an inclined manometer might do, Dwyer used to make ones we used - been a long time since I’ve done anything with small pressure measurements.

Thinking about it I might actually have an inclined manometer in a BOX (somewhere!!)

in a box, best place for them , cracking bits of kit and really accurate when correctly set up, but portable they aint.... spent days of my llife setting the levels, and resetting them after moving from test point to test point, fine for big AHU's in a plantroom and the like, but a ballache to move around. the small manos and micro manos are way more convenient.

aye dywer's are probably one of the best known makes think they own the name magnahelic , good kit, but depends on the range, tend to bounce around, so not the most stable of readings, not a big chew on a duct system, but if you want precise readings, I'd doubt they'd be accurate enough, but worth a try..

Gonna repeat myself but it's a really lovely place, especially in summer. And all the roads are red, because the tarmac is made from the local rock which is reddish, gives the whole place a different feel.

That is very pretty.
Whenever I have looked at Finland on street view etc you can never see any of the lakes from the road - nothing but trees and more trees.
Nice to see it isn't all like that!

Ordered a new shop vac from Aldi`s which turned up today. Seems a decent size and comes with an aux plug on the top, not bad for £50 delivered.

Looked at used ones on Leboncoin, but given my ineptitude with anything electrical decided to buy new. Not a big choice here but this has a 4 year warranty for industrial use. French firm but made in China.

If you want to measure flow the guaranteed way to do it is an orifice plate and inclined manometer, it's self adjusting for pressure, and once you have callibrated your orifice, bang on accurate. You can buy a dp transducer, connect a simple amplifier to it, an a to d converter, to a pc if you want.
I used to belong to an Umerican website, you could borrow a callibrated orifice, get plans etc. Job for when I retire...
