Nice bike !
I like fenders also. A chain guard an kick stand are nice also, and I recall that all bikes in my youth came with them as standard equipment.
The mud guards do look a bit skinny, might not be too effective..
Odd design with the frame tube recessed for mudguard, not seen that before.
Some lightweight frames don’t advise fitting a stand, my brother has a Thorn & it will invalidate the frame guaranteeKick stand is being investigated as I hate leaning it against walls, like in the pics
Chain guard is probably a no go, due to the 1x setup and the the 11 to 51 cassette, no, that isn't a typo. The rear cassette is huge
Sounds interesting are you going to braze the boring heads to the rod?A 330mm length of future boring bars, 8.4mm dia tungsten carbide.

A mid life crisis?
The fact it arrived on my birthday is just a coincidence

Few mods to suit my needs, neighbour said the mudguards ruined it, I told him the great thing about it being my bike is that I can do what I want to it.

Plan to get fit once my hernia op is done, I will keep riding my home built bike when i'm out with the family but I won't be able to do any serious miles on that
Mid life crisis? Surely it's missing the engine!
Happy birthday
Depends how old you are when the midlife crisis kicks in, for the said crisis to involve a pushbike instead of a dusky maiden I can only assume Mr Kayos is fifteen.

Yes the current plan is very much like the Korloy bars. Grind the carbide at 45 degrees V and braze on. Not sure if I will make the head or chop an existing bar. I have a few spare sclcr's but Id prefer to use dcet insertsSounds interesting are you going to braze the boring heads to the rod?
Check out " Bicycle Crankset Chainguard " on ebay. Just an outer ring which fits on the crank sprocket to keep your clothing clean and from catching in the teeth.Kick stand is being investigated as I hate leaning it against walls, like in the pics

When I was 15 I would have preferred the dusky maiden, in later years, the mind may be willing but……. The bike is cheaper!Depends how old you are when the midlife crisis kicks in, for the said crisis to involve a pushbike instead of a dusky maiden I can only assume Mr Kayos is fifteen.
