A couple of cheap 20 mm shank aluminium bodied bench clamps:

I currently use a couple of Axminster bench clamps to hold my portable workbench down, but they stick up a long way and get in the way of things:

These are nowhere near as strong, but they seem to do the job from what I can tell so far:

Given they're only £12.75 each, I think I'll order a few more...

From the skip that keeps on giving! Four Superslim imperial spanners, a Lister spanner, an Iron Bull chinesium adjustable spanner plus a 1/2" tommy bar, None of them were even rusty, It astounds me that someone can put perfectly serviceable tools in a skip.

I have decided I retired too young and yesterday I got offered a position in an engineering company quite local to me. We will see how it goes but I am quite pleased

He is having a clear out of odds n sods. He wanted to ley me have it for free, but I left him £20 for the beer he will buy me next time I will be passing.

Then a heavy plastic bag.



It was very heavy, the back of the van dropped.

Today I had to move out unplanned to a tool rescue.

I have not screened everything yet, but most of it should be uninteresting ... This adjustable wrench, however, looks like none I've ever seen before:

By the way, in our country adjustable wrenches are short called "Engländer" = "Englishman"

- an Englishman once told me that in your country they are also called "Frenchman"...???

I wonder where that might come from ....?

Anyone have any idea for what profession or purpose the thing with this particular shape was once intended?

It's not even blocked, just a little harder to adjust.
