The AA used to have something similar a good few years ago based on an Isuzu pickup, the body on the back was OK - not as good as yours, but the amount of kit loaded meant they had next to none towing capacity. If I was still self-employed, I'd be looking for one of those, better for load carrying than my Freelander 2 Commercial but not as comfy!

I had one. Mine was a Vauxhall brava. Same thing I think? It used to do my head in. Going to parts counters - “can I have xyz for a Vauxhall brava please?” “You mean a fiat brava?” “No you bellend if I meant fiat id have said fiat” is how it used to go

That was a good size workshop. Had a fold down step and you could get right in it. The AA left a tyre lever in it which I still have. That would have been late 90’s?

They sold off a lot of VW vans as well. They all went through EAMA at Norwich where i was living near at the time.

I was after something similar when I got my L200, had to be double cab though so more like £17k

The price was a no brainer. Not sure what it’s like there but pickups have gone stupid here. Mate paid £12k for a 10 plate one the week before I agreed on that one.

Yer, probably the same / similar - VX & Isuzu had various tie-ins until Renault caught their eye... I think the Isuzu / VX pickups would have been introduced early 90's, pretty much as I left UK to chase work in Africa and elswhere, when I came back, they were all gone and Transits ruled the roost once again.

Not on his eBay. There was only one other when I bought this one and that was in Bradford and £3k more. It was a bit cleaner / lower miles mind.

Give him a call if you’re serious. He’s good to deal with and I imagine he could source one. 3 months warranty as well. Not a Mickey Mouse one but underwritten by first direct (I think it was)

lighter for scale so not very big ,faces are pretty good and no other markings other than A-8 on the back .

AA ones were Vauxhall Bravas.

RAC now have Isuzu D Maxs, they can tow 3.5t. Officially known as HD Maxs, but more often known as sandwich vans.

I'm sure the first ones were Isuzu badged - this is early 90's BTW before AA got the VX Motorman contract. RAC had the Trooper and prior to that, something SWB that I can't remember. I had a VX Astramax then a Transit (well, two, due to the air intake sucking up surface water catastrophically).

I’ve been wanting to get into some carbide tooling for the lathe. Picked up a few bargains this week to try out. All New or NOS.

An Amazon bargain Korloy left hand holder, and a matching mislisted ebay bargain - a “Gloster” boring bar.

A generous care package from JB cutting tools - Tried them from the recommendations on here, and they were very good to deal with.

Another ebay mislisting special. Some “candela” through coolant boring bars.

Hopefully will pick up a couple of other bits too, but that should be a good start.
Look forward to trying them out when I get the workshop renovation finished and finally get the lathe back up and running.
