From afar.Excuse my ignorance but does that mean controllable from afar or even remotely controllable at all?

But I need to be able to control it from the Arduino first, then decide how I'm going to achieve the remotely part.

Though I think 'filtering' may be against the law, of some European Countries. It’s rule 88 that allows it and rule 211
That provides for other road users to expect it in slow moving or stationary traffic.
Some folk think it’s illegal and other misguided folk cut you off by pulling across when you’re trying to filter. Which is disappointing.
I've made a false ceiling box in front of our solar feed in meter as it's been set in place a few inches from the ceiling & run a web cam from inside the box to a fly lead on my computer desk . I just plug the fly lead in and take a photo of the solar meter reading .My smart meters are as thick as mince, I still have to read the meters manually every month.
I've given up ringing and emailing to get them sorted. I've bought an Optical Utility Meter LED Pulse Sensor so I can be independent of the carp they installed.
That reminds me, I've bought a few other Raspberry Pi sensors for the kids and I to play with over Christmas. A HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Range Sensor so we can track how full the wood pellet hopper for the boiler is, and a very accurate ICP-10125 Air Pressure Sensor just for fun, I may add other weather station equipment later, I didn't want to buy an all in one unit as they are generally cheap tat. Some anemometer's have no IP rating and need "additional weather protection", where there's wind there's usually rain so they are about as much use as the police surveillance system in Downing Street
Quote:Though I think 'filtering' may be against the law, of some European Countries.
I did notice this quite often when traveling around European Countries,Quote:
"Is it allowed to drive on the hard shoulder? - No (a point in Flensburg and a fine are the consequences).
Can the emergency lane be used to drive through? - No
Is it permissible to park a bike on the hard shoulder? - Yes in an emergency (for example, if there is a risk of overheating)
Is it permissible to drive through cars with the motorbike on the central reservation? - No (this is also where the overtaking ban on the right applies according to the StVO).
Is it permitted to weave between cars? - No (according to StVO)
Can the motorcyclist pass between the central crash barrier and the cars on the left in a traffic jam? - Mostly no (as it is usually not possible to keep a safety distance of one metre when passing cars and the crash barrier).
Are motorcyclists allowed to ride forward at traffic lights? No (The same rules apply as a car has for overtaking)."
In reality, however, "old" motorcyclists like me do and "new" ones tend not to.
Many car drivers - like myself - virtually expect it and if the motorcyclist behaves differently than the expectation dictates, confusion ensues.
Example: With a car on a country road, a slow car in front of me, a motorbike in between - very often the motorcyclist who does not overtake then takes my opportunity to overtake the car, because I do not want to approach the biker as much.
Or, I see a motorbike approaching in the rear-view mirror of my car. Over the decades, it has become common practice for the car driver to move to the far right (your left) of his lane to allow the motorcyclist to pass even when there is oncoming traffic or an overtaking ban. This consensus no longer seems to apply and sometimes you ride for an uncomfortably long time at the edge of your own lane if the biker does not react or does not understand. In the past, the car driver who did not act in this way was the sleeper, but today you are sometimes not understood if you do.
Signs and behaviour have changed, I expect motorcyclists to take advantage of their extra manoeuvrability and acceleration, anything else turns the rules of habit on their head for me.
Snoozers on motorbikes contradict my view of the world.
Have a wonderful day everyone

No disrespect, but why would you even ask if you can photograph something inside your own home ? Your just monitoring your meter.I've made a false ceiling box in front of our solar feed in meter as it's been set in place a few inches from the ceiling & run a web cam from inside the box to a fly lead on my computer desk . Does anyone know if it's legal to fit a webcam in the main meter box to take photos of the smart meter readings ?
Pusser's....MmmmmmBut, I did spend some funds.
I need some nice things for the up and comming daft season.

Nice.
Because I'm not sure if the space inside the external meter box is a place where you can legally put in your own equipment or wiring . Opening the cabinet door and taking a single picture with a camera is no problem .No disrespect, but why would you even ask if you can photograph something inside your own home ? A quick Google suggests the cabinet belongs to you so I'd guess you are free to do what you like in it. As long as it doesn't interfere with the meter.Because I'm not sure if the space inside the external meter box is a place where you can legally put in your own equipment or wiring . A new member of our animal family - Minnie, a four year old Romanian rescue who we brought home from Kettering yesterday. Like many dogs over there, she was found wandering the streets in a pretty bad condition: skinny, riddled with fleas etc. She's already showing she has a lovely temperament.
