While we were working on timing our VW LT35 2.5 TDi the guys next door went away and made us a tool for holding the rear cam sprocket to help get the timing spot on.
I have an enerpac setup under my workbench, never used it, was left in the unit when I purchased it

have you tried the chip fence yet? Mine is taller than that and chips still come over the top.
