Is it your turn in the barrel? What's this obsession with the golden rivet?

What's this obsession with the golden rivet?
Steel, attached to a steel ball, but a closed copper rivet body.
If it is not steel my magnet can now pick up more than steel
Best ignored.....I have no idea whats in there or what most of it does.
You can get galvanised rivets - but I don't recommend using the die-cast monkey metal hand riveter you might have used with the aluminium pop rivetsWell, as luck would have it, some were introduced here just a day or two ago ...
... I had to do a lot of riveting some time ago on a trailer with a body made of thick galvanised steel.
The rivets were the well-known aluminium/steel models and I was surprised that after such a short time in the weather the rivets and their surroundings started to dissolve themselves and each other - since then I pay more attention to the electrochemical nature of metals to be joined ...
... and have not yet found the ideal composition.

Not quite what I meant - you can get entirely steel rivets - no aluminium.yes, that's what I meant: galvanised steel pin is pulled into aluminium sleeve.
The result was a steel-zinc-aluminium-zinc-steel sandwich - well, if there is no exchange of electrons where then?
Cherry is a good site to look at. Spendy though. Not quite what I meant - you can get entirely steel rivets - no aluminium.
wasn't aware of thoseNot quite what I meant - you can get entirely steel rivets - no aluminium.
Thanks for the tip!Cherry is a good site to look at. Spendy though.
Gives an idea of what’s about if you need something specific for an application.
Eg these are cadmium plated for corrosion….
"aerospace"wasn't aware of those
Thanks for the tip!

Did 18 or 36 v ? I've loads of the Hikoki / hitachi stuff and can't fault it .A new impact gun after the old sealey finally gave up. As I already have hikoki/hitachi batteries it made sense.
It’s a bit of a beast, only tried it on car wheel nuts so far and it’s like they weren’t there, I’ll give it a go on the lorry nuts and see it gets on

It’s 36v, I’ve got a few of the 18/36multivolt batteries and plenty of the 18v batteries for all the other hitachi/hikoki stuff I’ve got. It’s all good gear, it puts up with the abuse I put it throughDid 18 or 36 v ? I've loads of the Hikoki / hitachi stuff and can't fault it .
