This item was being binned as it cut some one in the shop.

It is a Hand Grenade bottle.

Made by the 100’s for many drink producers. Worth anything from £1 to £50. Depending on the drink or medication it contained.

Natural cork was the original stopper, before natural rubber came along. By storing the bottle on it side it kept the cork moist.

I have one or two here.

What does it say on the bottle?

That will give you a starting price.

It states "Genuine Superior Arated Waters , Carter & Co.. , Bristol , Established 1831 ". I acquired it because it looked interesting, haven't thought about its value or selling it. Been toying with the idea of refilling it, making up a rough cork and topping it off with dirty wax as a curio, but the Wife thinks we have enough curios in the house, including me.

Not a collector but know that they were shaped like this to prevent the cork from drying out and the "aerated" water losing its carbonation

Thanks. On the bottle the wording is spelled " Arated ".

These tents are also great for Astronomy. Quick to set up to protect telescope optics from changes in the weather; especially good to have at Star Party events.

I’ve got one from eBay, less than a tenner I think, which i use as a spray booth. Only for small stuff but a heat lamp makes it nice and toasty and to rattle can bits it’s fine without getting dust on the bits or paint on my stuff

That's the idea (or scan something and model other bits to go around it, which can then be printed).

Today I took possession of two very useful mumps of cut to size steel , many thanks Rob.
They will replace my homemade band saw cut aluminium blocks . Even my lass was impressed at what they can be used for .

I might even band saw cut the fullest sides into dove tail grooves & grind out the waste or just same height 1/2 inch holes so that I can use home made bridge clamps to hold tube etc in the V's to give me both hands use when drilling out .
