.... a few small and medium things and an unexpected realisation ....
Yesterday I had presented HERE thrust bearings that had just arrived.
Because of the delivery times associated with the considerable distance and experiences I had already made, I had ordered from two different suppliers at the same time, which was easy in view of the low prices.
Today the other order arrived:
I immediately noticed that, to my surprise, a different design was delivered for the identical size.
I then looked at yesterday's delivery again and found that it also consisted of bearings of different designs, so that I now have three variants for the same purpose.
A small tiltable rotary table, equally suitable for the small Myford and the milling machine.
Not exactly of outstanding quality, but also nowhere near as bad as some of the comments one finds about this manufacturer suggest: The table rotation drive is suitably sensitive, the scales are sufficiently accurate, one turn of the handwheel really does correspond to ten degree of adjustment (even after a full turn of the table), the graduation is easily sufficient for 1/4° resolution with a backlash of about 1/8°.
There was also a device that I had not seen before, which the seller called a tailstock, but which I could imagine functioning more as a counterholder for shafts to be machined on the milling machine, opposite a dividing head .... but maybe it has exactly the same name in your language ....
This part is also not of outstanding quality, although it has a feature that I have remembered as a characteristic of very high-quality devices, this ruffled varnish - in the meantime, perhaps a way has been found to produce this quickly and cheaply and one can no longer rely on this feature as an indicator for high quality ...
What is the name of the last part shown? Thank you.
Have a nice evening all,
Carsten
