Would a helicoil in a bleed nipple on a caliper be ok or an absolute no no?

The sealing is done by the tapered surfaces, and if the 'coil is good, and the drilling out hadn't touched the taper, it would work fine. It would always niggle at me, though.
Otoh, just on a general principle, I'd prefer to strip it and get it tigged and retapped
It's only something I'd do on an irreplaceable part, to be honest.
A PC-savvy work colleague had a PC t look at a few years back, and the owner did this self-same thing as she thought 'that might be the problem'........Guess what, it became the problem as soon as you moved the switch!!!!

Not a chance, I will be selling the Tap and Dye kit that we have in the workshop though. its dual purpose, you can tap some holes and then have nibble because it is certainly made of cheese.

Today I acquired (well - put a deposit on) - this - picture is seller's not mine.
I should be picking her up tomorrow night.
Don't much fancy the run home in the dark but I've done worse.
I've finally got round to getting the Goldwing MOT'd and advertised on Gumtree and eBay, so hopefully Monday will bring a flurry of interest, fingers crossed.

Last night in work I came across this parts washer that was tripping the power when the switch was getting wet (no **** sherlock) and getting binned so after confirming I could get a note to take it home I cleaned it up. Alright for free.

Some of you may remember a few weeks ago i was looking for an offcut of 42mm stainless steel pipe. I had no luck so last week to finish the job had to buy a bit from metals 4 u at great expense.

SWMBO sent me down to Aldi for some fish, she said if there is none get something else so I got a retractable airline for £20 ish. No good for air tools but ok for blow guns and tyre inflater`s, nice and soft so wont be doing battles with it in the winter.

I had to buy a bit of mirror glass to fit a nice frame i found, cost me 17 quid , Ouch ! On the way home I found a branch of Next being refitted, half a dozen full length mirrors going in the skip.
