It's made in Great Britain by English Electric back in the times when we really were great and not just a country full of "service providers" and self serving political shirt lifters.

In no othe rorder than as I puled them out of the box.

Most will be passed on, as I have no need of the items.

The weight was made by this.

This was almost lost in the packing.

Hold onto the Fluxite, its a great universal flux. I use it for everything, including electronics!

Thanks. I'd like to repair as it might be useful, but I'm not sure it's £90 of useful, especially as I'm tending towards Makita's 18V cordless tools.

I'll ponder on it.

I hope it's £50 of useful as that's what a replacement stator has cost. From Probois Machinoutils, now the waiting begins.

Do Scheppach have a reasonable reputation in the Fatherland?

We distinguish between Scheppach old and Scheppach new.

Once a highly respected name for woodworking machines (until the mid-70s also agricultural machines), today more a supplier for DIY stores .....

But: I'm not above buying Scheppach either - although they often manufacture in low-wage countries (including European ones), but they have quality control in their own hands - if I need a machine quickly (don't have the time to look for something old) and know that I woundn't use it on a daily basis, then why not Scheppach?!?

We have a draw-and-cut saw for wood from them that is not often used, but does what it is supposed to when it is supposed to.

They have their own development department, hold their own patents - there is no fundamental reason for refusal.

The best thing is to get your hands on the equipment yourself before diciding.

I've various of their tools, a trommel that was bought about 25 years ago and is still going, and a bench grinder of unknown age I pulled out of a skip. Both seem reasonably well made.
