Today, I have acquired something not:

Again, it's a story with Chinese traders.

I had found a tap for external thread Tr.16x3mm in Germany, received it quickly and successfully carried out the repair.

At the same time I had ordered a tap for internal threads, in case I would have to re-cut the counterpart as well - I got this (affordable) only from China.

Today, after two weeks, the time had finally come ... GLS delivered this:

Who, with all unnecessary respect, can be so stupid as to put a long pointed object that is to be sent halfway around the world from China to Europe into a super thin envelope without further packaging and without reinforcing it accordingly?


Or have I just come across their latest scam of just sending empty envelopes with a hole in them...!?

And now the same circus as always, useless back and forth writing, maybe videos are requested (I have already sent pictures, of course), any responsibility is denied, a refund of
€ 2.50 is offered, ..... gnagnagna - you all know the drill.

I can't get a magazine on subscription from somewhere in the UK to me somewhere else in the UK in a paper covering without it being torn, or falling apart from

My "Private Eye" comes fortnightly in good condition in a thin plastic foile .... well, about five to six days later than you could buy it.

I worked for an industrial supply warehouse and the packaging that some of the workers ( I use that term lightly) thought would be suitable often amazed me. Tiny drill bits, 1mm and smaller just loose in an envelope, files without handles the same, the one I will never forget was a length of 6mm all-thread bent into a circle and expecting it to be packed and dispatched, luckily I found it first. A lot of the warehouse workers don't care and the so called managers are not much different. As for DPD, FedEx etc they don't give a stuff either. Glad I'm out of it.

Now I'm almost tempted to have a replacement delivery sent to me, just to see what they'll come up with now - it would also be exciting to find out whether they give a damn when you ask for expedited shipping because of their mistake ....

Although I have already done my repair, I now have the female die and when I build my own project with trapezoidal thread it will definitely be this dimension, so it would be quite handy to have the counterpart ......

Looks like the supplier has been in touch with the carrier and said they have accepted it at the depot and it has been "lost" prior to delivery to the customer.
I'd get them to send you a replacement.
I had a vfd delivered by a courier once, the original couier carriage label had a beautiful hole in it and they had stuck another label over that to hide the damage! Fortunately whatever had caused the hole did not reach the VFD.

I purchased four reptile tank black heat lamps, " Available in the UK ". via Amazon.
Six weeks later they come via China Air ,both ceramic bulbs are broken & each wrapped in a sheet of tissue paper then slipped inside a grey mailing envelope not even in a manufacturers plain cardboard carton. waited another three weeks for replacements to arrive
