Some nib head cut the mounting stays off this unobtainium aluminium fairing brace on a 750 Turbo, made up some new ones and Sif welded on, polished out nice and about 20p in O2/Mapp

ohhh I'll keep my eye out for a set

there's a few times I've had to braze coper pipes to repair them and it;s a bit of a faf getting my big bottles out

there's a valve I need to change that I've been putting off because my hoses aren't long enough to reach - they'd be perfect for that too :-)

Mixed bag today,the kids wanted some ducks,the farm opposite have been priming them I think,they told us they’re Muscovys,I’m not sure,luckily I still had a duck house from years ago,so just added a pen,as you can tell all built from stock materials .im going to add a guillotine wicket door tomorrow.
The fork lift passed its test,so it should,it’s vgc,with the exception of still awaiting top coat.
Some plugs for the camper.

Who needs so many nippers?

Obviously someone who earns his living with it and therefore pays attention to quality.

Someone was a master sheet metal worker and mainly made church roofs - there was also a very interesting sheet metal folding machine, but I wouldn't have any use for it.


EDIT: The sheet metal folding machine to be used on the roof to connect and seal two sheets together:
"LEO hemming machine from Südmetall, Munich for standing seam sheet metal roofs etc. used"

EDIT: the machine above I did not buy!

Really great, such a bucket ... and all the things that go into it.

My workman gave them to me as I was so impressed with his Milwaukee pair ,these aren’t as good as his.

Seen a job this morning .
This evening I've bought few bits to make it done easier.
A new caliper because my old one rusted out (cheap Chinese) now I'll use it for scribing .
With the caliper a 150mm ruler and a scribe.
Then 2 F clamps ,it might sound strange but I've never bought one before , I've always ask to someone whenever I've needed them.
A LED headlight ,I need it to see in the dark upstairs aka my shop
A din bar switch for the headlight.
A 300mm steel ruler
2 pairs of leather gloves and protective glasses , those for work .

Then a good friend of mine gave me 20 meters of 2x6mm² armoured cable .
That will become the main line for the shop .

Poor old Leopold our first and only goose the runt of the hatch and pestered by the rest of the brood, till we were " given him".

I made a mobile pen and house , moved him all over the 1/2-acre of grass over the summer. friendly too, sadly the early October storms blew him into his pen fencing overnight and chucked his house out of the pen.
Poor sod never recovered despite being housed in the glasshouse for another ten days and being fed boiled mashed spuds and boiled wheat.
Still feel a bit guilty seeing those photos ... at least the local foxes or badgers didn't get him /

It's a bit like a tinsmith's anvil.

So I did a little more research and now it looks like it may be a stump anvil, possibly not original to the stand (they don't really mate up). I'll have to take a closer look, I suspect it could be much older than I first thought.

The ‘stand’ is intended to be set underground round a water cock so the top is level with the pavement. It’s been repurposed and is missing the circular inset lid.

A few items from Zoro; @doubleboost posted that the drill bits were reduced and @ukracer posted a discount code. There's another one of the 9" pipe wrenchs which I'll give to my brother and I thought the JJ type grips would be a useful addition to the vise-grip drawer.


Unexpectedly I won at the start price a new 6" carver, seems a shame to use it.....
