I was given this an age ago, a Ewell 2 1/2 axe head. For a long time it hung on a nail.
Until yesterday, I had, key word there a well seasoned bulk of American hickory, it was heading to the charcoal stove. A member of the Local Men In Shed is a wood working nut. He turned into a shaft for the Elwell head.
Nice. Elwell are lovely axes and command good prices accordingly. I have a little Brades Criterion hatchet I got for $5, super steal. Lovely to see good tools working again.
I have been up to similar fun today. I found some handles in a nice tool shop, again American Hickory. You might remember this hammer head I got a few months ago, as well as the two I got the other day and posted on here
I painted up the Warington hammer red for my friend. She does joinery.
And a coat of blue Hammerite for the 2lb ball pein as per all my other eng hammers. Red for wood, blue for metal is the colour coding in the workshop
Cheers
i would like to say leave the naming up to the fourm to name him and you pick the best name from the bunch?
As Mrs TYA has claimed him, as soon as I proved it was working, do you think I have a choice?
So long as you've got a can of spray paint, a craft knife and a sheet of 1mm plastic to make a stencil, you've got a choice
Hell has no fury as a woman.
The extension cord is being junked, damaged case and the cabling is exposing the inner cores.
collected this from my dad this morning, its bloody heavy! , it was going in the skip, it was originally a heavy duty sink unit, sink came out and replaced with some ply and used as a work bench for abit, has leveling feet, will post some pictures later when im finished with itView attachment 107534
Clip the plug and keep it if not for brass scrap, a rewireable plug is handy indeed. The wire is worth building up until you have a sack full, then scrap it.
got my bench finished, i left the thick ply on, the top is 3mm steel with 20mm folded edge. put a vice on also. used some exhaust clamps and ratchet straps to secure gas bottles to the side
