I've had quite a few of the Aldi multi-tools over the years, handy for when a proper grinder won't fit. I buy the reinforced cutting discs from eBay at a few quid for 50, and they're great. Like several of my power tools, the strain relief on the mains cable has broken up - I thought I'd kept all my old dead ones and was hoping to swap one across, but it looks as if I've had a rare "tidying up" moment and chucked them out. Warranty is good too - when the first collet wore away (probably because I was using a mini carbide burr to grind weld down in tight corners) I got in touch with them, they don't do spare collets so they sent the entire kit.
Ooh! Have you got a linky for the FleaBay discs please?
Never thought about using one with a carbide burr like that! Does it work well? (I do get a bit wary using a die grinder in tight spaces due to the tendency to grab and kick - thinking the multitool wouldn't do that?)

The ratchet-y thing has a 1/4" drive slot in the end so it can be used as a screwdriver where space allows:
but it's main use will be screws where there's not much room:

Depending on strength of your mits, you can get things surprisingly tight. and then do last nip up with something bigger if needed/space dependant, might measure on a torque wrench what I can get it up to

I've used ratchet spanners as bit drivers to get in tight spacers and in extreme cases have ground the bit shorter.

I've done similar before, although when I've done it, I've found that there needs to be a bit of extra space behind the spanner so you can put your finger on the back of the bit. Without that, the spanner slides along the bit if you're pushing onto the screwdriver. The one I just got from amazon has a closed (or at least reduced diameter) back to the pocket, so the bit can't slide further into the spanner.
do this fairly regularly, a lot of kit now has these daft wee parts that are diffcult to get to. have a small round magnet that I stick on the end of the spanner, that seems to hold the bits in place well enough, depending on how tight the screw is....

A few late Christmas presents. The Knipex cutters are razor sharp and parallel great pair of cutters.
Still not made my mind up about the mini grips they really are small, so small I've lost them in my pocket and dropped them on a number of occasions today!
And a new proving unit that was needed after dropping my last one and totally destroying it!

I got a pair of those small grips just before Xmas, we have an installation on oil rig that has loads of old coax connectors, so I can see it getting plenty of use there

I do like them and they are great for tight spots but they could do with a lanyard or something, especially as most of my work is from a MEWP. Luckily the one I was in today had a solid floor as I was working above grain, I wouldn't have found them again if I dropped them!

I always thought that was a fact of life
- with my Guzzis, all I have to do is drive through fog - well, more proverbially - and they're rusty again.
When they had been braked clean again, then, with the next bit of rain, at first you could see every single drop on the discs becoming rusty, until they were completely wet and therefore completely rusty ...
... to quote the British author of the great, funny book "French Revolutions", after he had been given a GDR racing bike as a child:
"Until then I hadn't understood rust as a process that you could actually watch."
Well, if they were rusty, then they also got clean again when braking - I never saw the need to do anything about it .... however, I also didn't have a bike as new as yours ... yet. or any such new vehicle, for that matter ....
I'm curious to hear what you report, I can hardly imagine how that would work ... Good success!
