You have foliage up there-over there?
Possibly even from trees??

like on faucets
Is it just me or does that look like some sort of demented parrot thing?Just a small purchase: A package of three pairs of jaw protectors for my Knipex parallel-jaw pliers wrench. I haven't had a chance to use the jaw protectors yet, but I think they could be good for working with finish-grade fittings, like on faucets, heated towel racks, etc., without dinging up the fittings. They're made of some kind of hard plastic and I'm hoping they'll be tough enough to handle a decent amount of torque. Anyone have these protectors? If so, how are they holding up?

I've got the Knipex grips with the plastic jaws already fitted, they are very soft. They couldn't twist the cock off a chocolate mouse! Just don't grip very well at all.Just a small purchase: A package of three pairs of jaw protectors for my Knipex parallel-jaw pliers wrench. I use copper, I'd imagine it works better, and its free (If you've got some copper).Just a small purchase: A package of three pairs of jaw protectors for my Knipex parallel-jaw pliers wrench. Note to self: Keep UK-American dictionary handy.Taps old chap. Taps.
Are the plastic jaw protectors on your grips the same as these? Knipex makes several different jaw protectors. The ones I bought seem quite hard, and they snap on to the jaws. I don't know exactly what they're made of, but in terms of hardness and appearance they remind me of some kind of glass-filled thermoplastic. They would certainly be able to tighten aI've got the Knipex grips with the plastic jaws already fitted, they are very soft. They couldn't twist the cock off a chocolate mouse! I've used pieces of copper and dead-soft aluminium in that way, as I do in my vices as well. I got these partly for the convenience factor and...if I'm going to be honest...because it was a tool accessory that I didn't already have.I use copper, I'd imagine it works better, and its free (If you've got some copper).
No they are permanently attached to them and soft like rubber. Are the plastic jaw protectors on your grips the same as these?
