Got it at Southern Manufacturing in Farnborough. Not actually sure what this company does (Fibre lasers presumably), I just saw these and had to have one.
Now, promise not to put that anchor back in there?

Cordless heatgun. Who'd buy such a thing.

but this thing is always at hand and doesn't need a cable.
Since I got this one, I don't think the corded heat gun has been used.

I noticed at some point in my small indoor workshop that I now have many good metal surfaces through lathe, drilling-milling machine, straightening-measuring table ... but if I have to strike on something, any of the mentioned surfaces prohibits itself for obvious reasons!
Mmmmh, what could you take if you want to straighten something, peen something round, drive out a pin ... if there was something ...

What's interesting about this one is that the coating on the tip of the square horn is a bit chipped: I recognise brass underneath, I think - but what is the coating made of? It can be peeled off a little with effort, the flakes are hard, but the outer yellowing can't be with chrome - I haven't seen nickel darkening like that yet either ...?!?
The thing can't be silver plated, can it? I would expect chips from silver plating to be soft, not hard?!?
A small example of what we call an "English anvil" or "anvil, English form" with step - here also still raw.
And this working specimen, rather rough on the edges, but solid and with many possibilities, including round hole, upsetting block, round horn, square horn.
It started, as so often, with some crap from the Bay of Thieves - this time a dealer operating from the UK, whose first language, as it turned out, was certainly not English.
Crooked and askew, absolutely unusable in the state of delivery, impossible to find a fair agreement with the seller despite a lot of back-and-forth, several fraud attempts by the seller during the eBay case ...
... In the end, I got all my money back from eBay.de, including shipping, without having to send the stuff back.
- The consumer protection regulations are not bad at all ... where I life.

Some decent signwriting brushes. I used to be half decent at lettering but my motley collection of Airfix kit standard brushes are well past it and were never very good. Should help me with painting some of the finer detail on the old machines I'm renovating too.
These are made by A. S. Handover who make them in Welwyn. A couple of sable chisels, a couple of sable pointed writers, a couple of one stroke lettering brushes, one sable, one hog mix and a squirrel hair swordliner. I've never used really decent brushes so I'm hoping it will make a big difference.

I’d love to be able to that, might have to have a go. I used to love watching the guy do our truck liveries (Ready Mixed Concrete) but sadly, like most other firms we changed to water slide transfers and then vinyl.
I did last week on spec from lidl - its going straight back for a refund, I can breath hotter, total rubbish, got a corded Dewalt which is great and thought it would be a god addition, alas not unless its fualty...Cordless heatgun. Who'd buy such a thing.

So Nickel can get this yellowish darkening?
I know Nickel plating from powerful transmitter tubes where the frequency doesn't call for silver and the surfaces are too huge/the tube too cheap for gold plating.
Haven't seen one of those yellow-brownish ...
