A narex 3mm chisel could I find mine yesterday when I need it ( I'll cut the silly tit of the end ) and a pair of mini boa's .I've got the big 12" cast ally version in the plumbing box great for 110 and 150 and £4.25 for the pair how could I say no .

Seller forgot to add the ds nomenclature
It has the falling protection ring to be secured with a carabine and a strap / rope if needed, preventing it from falling and dive into a flight towards the floor or someone

Once you use it you will discover that any other grinder will feel vastly inferior. If I've any extended heavy grinding to do my Metabo is always the grinder I use. It is very well balanced & has good anti vibe handles meaning you can use it for extended periods without your hands going numb!

I know what you mean I already have 2 Metabo grinders +1 I'll try to revive,this one I've bought on eBay
And an SDS drill
I usually swapped guards putting the 125mm on the 180mm grinder whenever I've needed more power
This one would be the middle one a compromise if we can say that.

About other brands yes it's true but there are some exceptions .
I found myself very happy with Bosch +1000W series (Würth , Hilti, rebranded Bosch machines) but for the quiter noise levels.
Very impressed with Hitachi 1200W range grinders for their toughness.
And Flex for their electronics ,costant speed and delivered power are really impressive.
But Metabo it's Metabo I can't resist , they're loud as hell but extremely powerful durable and safe that's the main point safety

And being used I can test, dismantle and make a very accurate review on the forum .

You should be very happy with it, I have two of those, but in the rat-tail handle style WEPBA 17-125, good machines.
Also a WP9 which has the larger paddle style like yours, which is one of my favourites and also a WEV11 variable speed which comes in handy.
Can't really go far wrong with a metabo grinder.

I'm currently laid up, full of snot, shivers, sore throat etc. but the deliveries for the latest DIY project haven't stopped. I'm very bored as I could have been doing stuff.

All tiling related as I'm about to start on the daughter's ensuite. I usually do mine own tiling, but the last two jobs I subbed out as I was busy. I can't say I was totally happy so back to DIY.

My old tile cutter wasn't big enough for the 300 x 600 tiles my daughter as selected so bought a new one. A QEP Big Clinker mk2 Sort of mid-range but gets better reviews than some that are quite a bit more. its a big-un, 115mm angle grinder disc for scale

Huepar 903 CG laser leveller. My old one is ancient and useless. This seems to be the mutts nuts in comparison. I also bought two pairs of laser protection glasses in the correct wavelength, you only have one set of peepers.

As you got 20% discount if you bought it at the same time, I bought the receiver/detector doo dah for it too. Not sure what I will use it for yet but I'm sure it will come in handy.

A 28mm core drill. This is mainly for some SWA cable that I need to feed into the boiler room, however I may see if it will drill the two holes I need in the tiles rather than buy one just for one job. I'll try it on some scrap tile first. (EDIT, no pilot drill with this so I may struggle, looks like I'll buy the correct tool) (Double Edit I could make a guide by drilling a hole in a block of wood)

and finally a 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive Britool hallmark ratchet set and set of 3 Hallmark 3/8" wobble bars.

Yes, I know they aren't strictly tiling related, but the missus doesn't know that

As to the laser detector, I've found it useful for lots of things, mostly outdoors. I most recently used a detector with my rotating laser level to work out the slopes in our back yard, which made it easier to come up with a detailed plan for a new leach field.

I also use a rotating laser level and detector with our archaeology group when doing field work, as it makes it easy to get elevation readings for each excavation unit relative to a common datum point. When doing more complex/complete site layout work, I switch to my theodolite or to a borrowed "total station," which has distance-measuring capability and does the trig computations for me. Here's a photo of me setting up the rotating laser level at an archaeology test pit site while one of our group members holds the stadia rod with the detector attached.

I'm hoping to acquire a few more tools this coming weekend, as the wife and I are planning a jaunt up to the Liberty Tool Company, in Liberty, Maine. We usually get there once or twice a year, and I always manage to reduce their inventory by a few items. If any of you forum tool junkies are ever in Maine, I think it would be worth a stop. My wife will like this idea. She's always using improvised tools when making plans of our land which slopes steeply. She had a to make a plan recently for some "slow the flow" funding to help prevent flooding in the valley, this would have been well handy

This is what I do with a cutter I have for tiles, it too has no pilot bit. Works well just clamped in position.

@brewdexta, the Receiver is good for higher accuracy. I found if the lenses on the laser were not kept clean, the light was too defused (broad) to find the "centre". The Receive removed the problem.

As @Blue Chips said a Datum is very handy especially in conjunction with a receiver and a bit of lathe or a rule set a the required hight, so all your light sockets are the same level in every room

A genuine r tech torch,as mentioned,the cheapo generic one I first bought was a nicer torch,but r tech has its own threaded connectors that aren’t compatible,this was 4x the price.

Only problem I have is what is the best way to cut it precisely in 53.3 mm x 2.4 m strips I have to cut 8 such strips and don't really fancy wrecking my back with a hand saw . ( I'm posting this in as a separate thread as well )

Circular saw a with a guide or table saw would be the best route.

I got a few bits of metal which I can use on the lathe. More mystery metal (about 95% of my stock is mystery metal).

I also took a chance on machine coolant pump. If it still works I am on to a winner.

Last but not least I got this trolley where you can slightly raise the platform by engaging the hooks onto the handle. There is then a 'hook' which engages wich keeps the platform raised.

I have no idea what the original purpose of the trolley was, does anybody have an idea?

I was hoping with a little bit of modification I can make it into a machine base - raise the platform to move the machine around and lower the platform so that the machine sits on legs.
