A crack 
Guess I finally found the limits of 3mm RHS...
To be fair that set of forks was lashed together with stuff I had lying around and they've shifted a few hundred tonnes I'm sure over the last couple of years. Then I thought ooo I was gifted a DOA* forklift so maybe I can pinch a proper headstock off that and then just put the JCB brackets on the rear. Removed the guards, removed the bolts stopping the forks falling off and then found four large cap-head bolts that had been painted over. Nope, the bastwerds have welded them in
. Now do I drill them out or remake my forks. I think I'll slap some more weld over that crack and carry on as can't be without the forks for too long shunting stuff around. They're also quite a lot wider than the donor ones which has proven quite handy.
* It was alive when it arrived at @8ob's yard but sitting for a month not on the trickle charger finished off the batteries

No. Deliberately went to get one. I missed out last time.... & stated (perfectly correctly) that it was a good thing as I really didn't have enough use for one.Bet you just went in to see if they had any tomatoes.....
Just been through loads of cutting discs, loads of dust and grit everywhere cutting masses of rusty metal out of my van recently, and in some awkward spots.... & the knowledge that these were back in-store was just too much for my willpower

Well, acquired yesterday evening, but only pulled out the car this morning.
Six out of eight, came from a reliable nest, the two in the middle might be viable. Never done this before, I'll get back to you in 21 or so days.
Fingers crossed, they're big special breed chickens, don't ask me what kind, couldn't tell you. Just for eggs, not for meat.

I made castored frames on 30/30 mm equal angle iron for three 600 x 400 euro crates pulled out & turned the pegs down from the castors off an old sofa and lounge chairs . Then welded the pegs on the corners in small reinforcing corner plates .
Once the wheels were back on it made a big difference for I can now easily slide a 30 kg crate full of rarely used stuff sideways into an awkward corner under a low shelf out the way .

Got the bottom one as a box of spares for the top one, doesn’t need any yet! Re connected 4 internal coaxes and it’s a worker! So now I have a breeding pair of my favourite signal generator. Frequency counter was also in the deal.

Are these torches a universal connection in the sane vein as the euro connector on a Mig is?
(Asking as I just bought a Lidl Parkside job - but haven't even taken it out of the box yet - it'd be good to know spares are easy & reasonable price).

I was totally fed up of my cheap digital micrometer. Very accurate but needed far too many turns to open and close.
Spotted a nice used Speedmike on Ebay. Mint condition hardly been used. Still not cheap but about a quarter new price.
It really is super fast. Just a few turns to open and close. Measures to a hundred thousandth of an inch
