True, but having the digits underneath the meter can be usefull too.What a beautiful piece of equipment!
I used to chase a piece like that myself, never found a good one - and this one looks fantastic, hope yours does as well.

You don't want a digital display at that point, just the cross-hand instrument gives you the ratio you're interested in without your brain having to process individual precise values first that aren't of interest at that moment.
Attempts to equip vehicles with a digital speedometer and rev counter have also led to nothing - I had this in a way with my Citroen DS and CX - it gives the impression of an accuracy that nobody needs and individual values that only disturb and distract.
